I still think Gen 4 was when Ash was at his best. But Gen 6 was when he embraced the shonen and all its tropish goodness. To bad he couldn’t embrace the “tournament” aspect of the shonen trope.
Near the end the singer actually sang Pokémon’s famous slogan “gotta catch em all.” That’s actually my favorite part! Not to mention the “shock em like a Thunderbolt” and “stronger than a Hyper Beam”!
