I also visited Banaue rice terraces and the hanging coffins .. a loooong way from Manila, but so worth it. I found that wherever you go in the Philippines it's not just kids who demand money from you! They think just because you're white that you're automatically rich. But by their meager standards if we have US$5 WE ARE BY FAR wealthier than they are, and I will usually give them ten pisos .. but that particular kid needed for nothing - he's one of the best dressed Philippino kids I've ever seen - he's even WEARING SHOES! But certainly not the most foul-mouthed kids I've ever heard!!

Yes very true all of it! I do usually like to give a little when I can, but this one I didn't think deserved it.

We went there once, but our guide didn't tell the story behind the coffins. We also saw some caskets piled on top of each other and most of the casket are engraved with gecko. Now, I'm wondering why gecko?

Dane Slater oh wow, I didn't notice the Gecko nor was I told the meaning of it. I need to find this out

At 2.30 the word "PUTI" besides the coffins represents vagina in Nepali language .Do not know what's the meaning of this there .
