Where proof?
Seeing this gold vs moria gold in recent video makes you realize how bad the “ranking system” is.
Not gonna disagree with the current ranking system being that great, but you're also comparing a single game of a moira player vs a tank player so that doesn't really tell us much tbh
Mauga is very good on lower ranks because he makes supports job easier with his sustain for himself and for team.
hate being the one to tell you this but this is only true if they know what cover is, most maugas i get in silver and gold take up all attention as a support

Bro i love bwing in a fight with the whole team, getting some people one shot, just to have no one die but my teammates because my dps are only shooting the tank @cjerp
@cjerp silver and gold dps are basically braindead so of course you won't get value from them but you should still give them opportunities to do well
The coolest part about the new skins to me is when you get a headshot kill it plays a bebop tune.
It plays it for any kills not just headshots.

It was a nice game. Be proactive with your ults and don't wait for the perfect chance to use them. Sometimes trying to cage fight 5 enemies is a really bad idea as you're asking for focus fire on you. Its better to trap 1 or 2 key players and secure the teamfight, as usually people coward up and let that teammates to die insted of helping them.
I think it was well played game for him, but you can tell the tank experience left it’s mark on his psyhce😂
Real talk how do you beat Mauga? Silver 1 tank here and looking for genuine advice please.
I don't really want to do a mirror match of 2 Maugas either for alot of reasons.
Kinds of watched to this video to learn how to deal with Mauga and get some insight but still lost lol.
My hero pool on tank is ram, orisa, ball zarya and JQ.

I know his gameplay loop is brain dead but I like playing him now because as Emongg said, Mauga was one of the few tanks who didn't just frontline and die a second later. I like existing on tank tbh
@strangeosyndro272 learn hog, hog is pretty good rn and even against mauga if you learn to play cover really well you can find good success as hog. And with his breather hog has a ton of survivability rn. I am a diamond hog one trick for reference

What should a mauga player do when facing orisa?
Before Nerf u could just live through most of her stuff and just kill her team. Atm, I think atm you just need to swap
The orisa match up is pretty neutral and will depend on your dps being able to secure a kill on their supports, since you're hardly gonna be able to melt her by yourself as you would do to other tanks.
In my experience playing the "get in - get out" loop works for me. Start by poking her supports to force cooldowns like suzu, orb, nade etc. (they usually panic when they're on fire) until you have Orisa on your face. If you see her use jav spin its your signal to use cardiac overdrive afterwards and do as much damage as you can. Fortify will only give her some extra seconds to live, and at that moment is where you have to evaluate: if she's getting healed and your dps failed to secure at least one support death then turn 180, charge to cover, and get ready to go in again as soon as you get your cooldowns back. Otherwise go ham and do as much damage as you can before she can get her jav spin back.
Jav spin is her most poweful tool against you simply because you cant get health back if she denies all your bullets.

Idk who’s “overpowered” but I’m getting sick of just playing against orisa… every comp match it’s orisa gets kinda boring to play with and against

She’s always been annoying since Overwatch 1, she’s not overpowered if your DPS has any form of brain cells.

No tank is good enough to make up for dps that are 3-7, 12-15, etc when the enemy dps are 40-4...
Would be true if your supports are hard focused on healing the tank. If your DPS has more damage and less deaths than the supports, then it’s an issue.
However, any competent player would know they shouldn’t be dying regardless.
Until i play zenyatta then mauga gets melted. The only one that i cant seem to melt is doomfist

People need to stop sleeping on Reaper, he’s the best DPS counter against Mauga.
Its true that he can self heal a lot by shooting mauga, but he has one key weakness on his feet hitbox since its actually bigger than many people give credit for. And if you can get him on fire before he gets to feast on you for long he's probably gonna run away.
Hanzo storm arrow however is what I fear the most when playing mauga, as he can easily headshot them all from a safe position and you get destroyed before you realized what hit you.
I am in gold 1, NGL if you treat him like a dive tank it is massive.

Maumau's been meta in gold since release, it's not changed at all. He and Orisa dominate in lower ranks because nobody shoots at them or the supports, instead they just miss the enemy DPS for 5 minutes

But I feel so dirty playing him. I feel like ppl look down on you for playing MAUGA lol

The big thing with the EA deal and their anti cheat is that they can access everything on your computer(social security, credit card details, etc). Like the hacking is one thing but the access it grants is what's really concerning

Also first time he killed bastion before red Round 13:50(ish), could shoulda went in with stomp instead the team let the rez happen. When bastion was dead, team was on the back pedal and your team let them rez and take another fight when it should have been over right then and there in bastions first death near the corner of the gas station.
I'm surprised they didn't code mauga's reload as like 4.5 seconds when they designed him. Not that it SHOULD be that long, but someone would think it's cute
