- Fernando #Tatis & Jurickson #Profar join the DDP crew for a truly unique discussion that allows a candid listen to on-field and off-field topics as they chat with hosts Eric Hosmer, Peter Moylan, and Justin Su'a. Tatis & Profar peel back the curtains on the life of #mlb players, and tell stories from their days with Hoz as teammates on the #SanDiegoPadres. The conversation kicks off with Tatis, Profar, and Hosmer discussing the misinterpretations and pressures of traditional media, sharing personal anecdotes that reveal the human side of baseball's sparkling exterior.
During the discussion, Fernando Tatis Jr. talked about how actions and words are often misconstrued by fans and the media. Tatis shared a personal anecdote related to a particular incident where his interaction with Hosmer in the dugout was taken out of context, which sparked a flurry of media speculation and fan reactions. Both Hosmer & Tatis expressed the frustration of being misunderstood and the challenges of managing public perception when every word can be amplified or twisted. This discussion highlighted the pressures that come with being in the spotlight and the constant scrutiny players face from the media.
The dialogue digs deeper as they explore the importance of clubhouse chemistry, with Profar highlighted as the quintessential 'glue guy,' whose humor and leadership keep spirits high. From the pressures of meeting performance expectations to adapting to new positions and roles within the team, Tatis and Profar open up about the mental and physical demands of the game. Hosmer and Pete discussed the integral role Profar plays in maintaining team chemistry, highlighting his ability to lighten the mood with humor while also addressing necessary tough conversations without creating conflicts. "Profar has a way of saying it in a funny way to where a guy's not going to get mad about it." This part of the discussion revealed the essential yet often under appreciated aspects of team dynamics in Major League Baseball.
This episode is a treasure trove of insights, showcasing how players navigate the complexities of professional baseball, from dealing with media backlash to evolving with the game's tactical shifts. Whether discussing the impact of new MLB rules or reflecting on personal growth and team dynamics, this conversation offers an unfiltered glimpse into the dedication and resilience required at the highest levels of baseball.
Tune in for a candid discussion that not only celebrates the triumphs but also embraces the trials of baseball's finest. This is more than just baseball; it's a lesson in teamwork, adaptation, and the relentless pursuit of greatness. Yessir!
Right herrrr
#COMPETEFORPETE 🤎💛🤎💛
Loved it! Smiling like I was there lol
Much better as a podcast host than grounding out to second base.
Crazy to see the perspective change in how padres fans see Eric Hosmer since he started this podcast
He’s real in this. Thats all anyone can ever ask for. He was Ass. He knows it. Wish that wasn’t the case.
I still see em’ the same. I’m here only for Tati and Pro
Not me, I loved having him in SD. Saycwhat you want about his performance on the field but being on a team is more than that and you can tell that the players still love and respect him. He will always have my respect
if he took any accountability publicly for being ass with the padres, we wouldn't hate him
Lots that happen behind the scenes that players can't speak on when they're playing...especially to traditional media. That's exactly why Hoz and crew started this show. Hope you're enjoying the content! 👊
we need that HA-SEONG KIM sit down!
You're crushing it in retirement my man. Quality content. Love this new chapter in life for you.
Figured you’d be in here lol
👊💪
would you collab with bauer?
Great episode. Appreciate Hos for doing this show. Really cool seeing these type of conversations from baseball players.
Hoz is the man!
Thanks for watching, we appreciate your feedback! 🙏💪
Great episode, the friar faithful really appreciate this one! The HSK cig stories are hilarious. I remember seeing Hyun-jin Ryu gambling at the table next to us at Cosmo back in 2015 and he was chain smoking for at least 2-3 hours! Must of been a mucho stressful Vegas trip for him haha.
🙏 mucho stress!
Yk, I have given Hos a LOT of shit on SM over the past few years. May not have been happy with the on field product, but this content has earned my respect. Hos, glad you started this. Happy to see you rebuilding your relationship with Padres fans
thanks for the feedback! There will be a special discussion releasing soon with a Padres fan/blogger chatting directly with Hoz. You'll see it when it drops and keep that respect building for a good dude!
Tatis is the best since Tony Gwynn 😂🤎💛
The amount of exposure tatis was getting to major league arms at a young age is insane
Looking back at it I think him maturing so fast was more impressive . Just in 2020 he was throwing fits and now he’s one of the main leaders of SD
loved every minute of this. Pro killing it this year!
Thanks for watching!
This made my day, The 2015 ws made me fall in love with baseball with players like hosmer and moustakas . Really cool to see the personal side of these players I loved to watch growing up!!
One of my favorite podcasts. Loved all the insight Tatis and Profar shared. Well done Hosmer!
Hello, i am a Korean baseball fan and would like to kindly ask you to allow me to use two minutes from this video with Korean subtitle where Hosmer talks about Kim’s smoking story. May i have your permission?
I'm listening to what the fellas have to say but I'm also fixated on watching Hosmer's drink level go up and down. 🥃🥃🥃
Nando looks ripped lmao
What a great episode! Had a huge smile on my face the whole time listening. I'm at a loss of words with how much fun this one was for not only them but the fans!
thanks for watching and the feedback Zabrina! Fun to create these for you all!
LOVED IT!!!! ❤ GO PADRES!!!! ⚾️⚾️⚾️
2022..it was a decent season for the Padres. First time mgr, Bob Melvin leads them to a pennant. They fell short, basically because they didnt hit as much as Philly did. But when it comes to how much fun it was watching Profar's at bats during the playoffs, there isnt a whole lot that you have to say besides what Hos' said; Pro' "came to play". He can do it all, but to me, he is the modern day version of what a REAL leadoff guy should be: a hard nose-guy, who works an at bat like a surgeon. I love that guy.
Man this is great please do more of these
more on the way! Who would you want to see on one of our shows as a guest?
@@DigginDeepPodcast HS Kim would be a legendary episode! Pads fans and Korean baseball fans would eat that content up
@@DigginDeepPodcast manny machado or joe musgrove man manny is my favorite player always so smooth in his swing and when fielding
I’m subscribing, right away , we hardly ever see this side of the players
welcome aboard 🙌
Hoz i got to say I feel you started the movement for the Padres! You brought a lot to the team and the club house. I loved to watch you play and I am looking forward to your new chapter love the content. #LFGSD.
Yo Hoz! I know you had some struggles but who doesn't? We lost a true leader when you left. There's still many that appreciate your time here in Padres land. You're still a Padre in my book.
👊
idk why people hated on hos so much. i liked him on first base.
Theres like a 4-5 minute compilation why people dont
It was his first base presence that I had an issue. But he's chill in person. SD kinda did him dirty.
@@rickyramirez7556 How did SD do him dirty? He didnt perform at all period
Its really nice to see this side of the players... very relatable❤
This is awesome
👊
second, i love tatis
Tatis Jr a true Dominican who claps when they talk 😂😂😂😂
Damn Hos. You stole my thunder. I even think if we would’ve kept Pro things may have been a little different last season. I was happy we got a “decent” player in 2020. Pissed when we let him walk. Happy as hell to get him back (a little too late in my opinion). Little did anyone know Pro is more than “decent.” Damn outstanding player. Well deserved All Star. Pro seems to genuinely love the game. And SD loves him back. #GuessWhosRelevantNow
Now profar took his spot for now. Profar is the REAL mvp now. We know it
love these guys ! when was this filmed, before or after spring training ?
We filmed at Arizona spring training in early March. Tati & Pro came in right after their game. Hoping to be back doing the same thing next season!
@@DigginDeepPodcast Awesome ! cant wait to see what the future holds!
Love my team ❤Go Padres!
Definitely different you gave me a Nolan Ryan rookie as kid i would be thankful as hell but it’s would not have had the effect that I experienced giving a kid his first tatis card. Little dude burst into tears lol so weird and awesome at the same time
SLAM Diego! … great pod, late to the party
Dude where was this hosmer in sd!?!? This hosmer is awesome!!!!
Same guy, with his teammates who had his back!!
Let’s Go Padres🔥
I love Tatis and Profar 🙏
Kosmar is sauced on camera 😂😂! This pod is going to places tho
Loved this. Great baseball guys. Respect 🫡
thanks Kelvin!!
love this so much, keep it up hos
Love this!!!!
Let’s go Pads!! “Keepin’ the FAITH”
Nando is the goat, proves everyone wrong. Clutch Gene 🧬
Awesome podcast, fellas. 👏
thanks Jeff! 👊
Any more Padres, past or present, lined up in future episodes?
We filmed in AZ for spring training and aired the Padres we had already...maybe some will come on Diggin' Weekly, our remote show that airs every Friday and recaps the week in baseball. Which Padres would you want to see Hoz have on the show?
@@DigginDeepPodcast any of them really. I’d really like to see Wil Myers in an episode
@@Nick__E2 got you, will relay the feedback!
SAN DIEGO and THATS IT!! 💯💪
With a little seasoning Hoz I think you found your calling.
Now they here starting the all star game 😤 straight dogs
Xander hasnt had his big year just yet like they're saying. But i hope he xomes through!
24:20 Kim story
Love it but padres didnt get rid of profar he opted out
Wish this was released earlier. Love it, but a lot is already long passed and Bogaerts is slumping. Either way, keep it up, love the stories!
don't give up on Bogaerts!
The connections...
Vibes above replacement
Tatis has potential to be a hall of famer. Dude just needs to stay clean off field and stay healthy - big decline and waste of years in 22 and 23
Tati is blazed 😂😂😂😮💨😮💨🔥🔥
35:20
Ok this is fire
🔥
Tatis is high as a kite, look at his eyes
Need hoz back as a coach/player 😢
24:12
Hoz wants to come back for the pads

I'm a lifetime San Diego Padres fan, and the way they treated Hosmer was BS. I'm here. I'm subscribing, and I'm listening to our boy.
Welcome to the Diggin’ community, great to have you here 👊
Mucho stress 😂
22:28 its not difficult. Jesus.. they speak the same language and its called "ball". We have translators. If they dont have that, we have smartphones.
welcome to the club Jonezy!!
Bro is it me or does Tatis look stoned af?
In the beginning he said he’s high but they muted it lol
El Nino looks like he smoked weed before. Eyes lookin like he's high.
First
💛🤎🧡
Damn I liked Hoz but he left with NO honor, it's not the fault of his fans why he couldn't cut it in Baseball. Not even a thank you, and with that nobody wanted him.
terrible take. there will be an discussion coming out with a Padres fan blogger and Hoz, gonna want to watch that one and start adopting the mentality that there might be more going on than the average fan knows about. Be curious, not judgmental.
Eric I was bummed when you were traded. So true what you say about Pro. I was devastated when Pro went to the Rocks. So happy he’s back with the Friars!
Profar opted out. He wasn't traded or cut.
@@michaeldarcy909thanks. I didn’t say Pro was traded or cut.
@@joynoelmom5748 sorry. Homser did say the padres got rid of him.
Eric didn't produce as a padre
@@tacobellcall911he did produce, just not really up to what the contract stated
About the situation with the bases loaded and he swung 3-0 why not swing tf that's his job un written rules aren't rules so who cares I'm all for it go up and crush it who cares if the other team is down .....the other team never stops trying to score so why should one team let up ????
If we hired Ron Washington instead of tingler we would have been dominant
Would have been dope if you played the video back of Tatis hitting that home run while you guys were talking about it🔥
Yeah like Joe Rogan does in his podcast 🔥🔥🔥
Love the WBC stories! Also loved hearing Tatis speak of the lessons he's learned. It's not likely to change minds but it makes me have deeper appreciation for his journey
Thank you!
Love the feedback, thanks! 🙏 WBC stories have made it into a lot of these episodes, such a great series!
the kim story Got my dying
🤣🤣
Hoz was part of the glue in that team. Last year no Profar no Hoz different atmosphere. That's from what I see on TV. Character, clubhouse guy, and teammate speak louder than numbers. Great podcast Hoz. Padres still paying you there loss. Still love my Padres just hate they gave you away Hoz.
Glad you’re enjoying the show, thanks for watching and the comment! 🙏
I don’t know if it speaks louder than numbers. Because the numbers is what drove him away to another team.
Tatis and Profar! 🤎💛🤎💛
Love ya TATIS ,PROFAR & HOS !!! U guy’s are the BOMB 💣 !!! GO PADRES !!
Loved the LAUGHTERS!!! 😂❤❤❤😅😂🎉
Love all these dudes!

Ayy my boy Hos. Always enjoyed your time in San Diego, you were the 1st jersey that i was able to buy with my own money. You will always have my respect and admiration
Hos. My last time I saw you live at PETCO…. You went deep!!!! 💪🏻
Thank you 4 this pod Hoz
💪
I thought tatis was going to stalk about Chantel 😂
Yeah he would never, I was hoping they would have asked about being a dad
HSK smoking chat is huge in Korea 😂
This was great! Loved every minute!

I LOVED THIS. I really enjoy and appreciate when players give us their perspective of the game and/or an event within the game.
I loved this PROF for presidente 24 we need a glue guy in the office
7:44
7:50 you get a Tatis jr 🤗
Tatis has an American accent and grew up in the states so the culture question doesn’t relate to him much. He wasn’t poor period.
I loved the Manny podcast but honestly this is my favorite podcast is some time. Was a Totty fan before but now its on another level. Will be watching this with my U11 son for perspective going forward. Keep it up guys!
Love to hear it! Look out for the Mike Sweeney episode- a really good one for dad's with sons in baseball...or any sport really!
