Couple things to mention. Spare tire is new for 2024s. Car has 3 drive modes. Eco,Drive,Sport and the differences are noticable. You downshift on the shifter to switch drive modes.
I bought our 2013 Jetta for 2 reasons over all other comparably priced cars. Lumbar support for my wife, and the 2.5 liter 5-cyl. Audi engine. I HAVE test driven a 2024. It can't keep up. I don't care about fuel mileage, I want 0 to 80 mph as fast as possible.
@danaostrom8631 Dan, with all due respect, the 0-60 on the 2013 car you mentioned is slower compared to the 2024 Jetta SE. The Jetta SE accelerates very smoothly, it doesn't have that sporty feeling (unless you pop it into sport mode). It's an 8 speed lol, so it gives the illusion that it's slower to accelerate, but that's actually not true.
I love the look, but I refuse to pay thousands more for the SEL so I can have satellite radio that all of it's competition offers at a much lower price point.
Must be the last of the Covid chip shortages cars due to the credit for Blind spot or rear traffic alert deletion. same for 23 Tiguan SE No power tailgate .
I have a 23 Tig SE! I love it but yeah the lack of a power liftgate is kind of a bummer. Wasn’t a dealbreaker though, they put in a credit for $500 for the missing feature.

Thanks for the heads up!

Awesome. I actually started becoming a bigger fan of them in this last year.

Can’t argue people desires, I hope you like the choice. We are glad for your perspective.
Now the '24's have BSM, even on the base S trim.
