I test drove this same model year, S model. One of the most amazing SUVs. It produces power at every point in the RPM range. The CPU and trans tuning are a work of engineering. Porsches are truly special cars.
I’m at Chicago and my Audi a4 b8 coolent temp is stuck open and runs cold, this weather is crazy 🥲 will it hurt the engine? I’ve ran it cold like this all year
Nice video man!. A couple of notes there. Using that walmart oil cap removal will work but if you do it on German cars with plastic housing over time it will round the edges. You are right, ideally you wiuod want to use a 32mm socket. For the oil capacity its easier to use the metric system. This engine takes 9.5l with the filter installed. This will show up in the PCM at the full mark. Oh and the $5K plug......oh man! I hate dealers with their BS too😂
I've run my 2.0T on Liqui Moly for two years, not sure but I think they're big in Germany as they did a lot of rally sponsoring. The last two years I used AMSoil and at the moment I'm using Castrol Edge Titanium. Mahle is a know A-brand, also Mann, I usually buy all Bosch filter and maintenance sets.
I was using LM then AMSOIL and then went with Red Line. What I did not like about LM is that all their bottles sold in US are marked as synthetic motor oil, while on their German site, where laws more strict about duping the customers with false, misleading labels many (not all) of these oils say "sythetic processe" which does not translate as full synthetic motor oil. So you know these days they take mineral oil, treat it with hydrogen - hydrocracking process, use that as base and sell as full syntheic oil, which is not, thats Mobile oils for example. Also they liquify gas (gas to liquid technology) add viscosity stabilizers because naturally thats too thin, use that as base and also call it synthetic oil, thats Castrol, Penzoil and Shell I think. Vodka is liqufied gas/vapor and we dont call it full synthetic, do we? Generally full synthetic oil is one thst based on Poly Alpha Olefins PAO and ESTERS thats what in base of AMSOIL and RedLine. I am not saying other ones are not excellent oils, but I do not like to be BSed to. So most honest seller with good product gets my business.

You know things like medicine, if they call it vaccine, it should teach human body how to be immune and prevent spread of the thing it designed for, not require dozen of boosters :) and then one gets sick anyway, more then once.

I'm not from the US, nor Germany, but it's just a fact I know since they're quite strict with certain things. Sadly they're strict in their restrictions because of a bad cold too ... on the other side this shows how bad the corruption is there too.
When you see oil on the top of the block where is it from on a b8.5 2.0l? have had 3 mechanics unable to figure it out. -Upper timing chain cover gasket? -vacuum pump gasket? -just had oil housing filter gasket replaced -new engine (should’ve got a rebuilt one) warranty didn’t cover leaks 😂 $6k later still leaking

Ha! I understand you had to extract that oil plug, but generally - oil extracting vacuum pump at Harborfreight is $100, not having to crawl under my cars to do oil chages is priceless. That oil filter placement is ughhhh.... terrible, to say it nacely. Looks like whoever designed the engine and whoever designed the body never had a chance to meet and discuss the fact that oil must be chaged frequently and be convenient preferably.
I don’t know if Porsche is designed to do that, if it is someone let me know. I have 3 of them, 2 with a hand pump and 1 with an air fitting. the cheap Harbor freight one didn’t last a full year for me before the hand pump went. I also have a 12v pump version. I still think pulling the plug gets it out the best way and most consistently especially if you have to get under the car for the oil filter anyway. I have used that pump on applications it was not designed for through the dipstick tube like my bobcat and a jeep. Sometimes I get worried that the hose will get jammed in there.
@@NaptownTuner nonetheless it is awfully convenient. I bought the one that connects to air compressor because I always do oil changes at home where air compressor is available. AUDI TT and Q5 I have to go though dipstic tube, Range Rover Sport actually has a tube built in, connection right under oil cap. All these vehicles have filters on top. As far as " if all old oil gets vacuumed out" concern... At least in my case, we do not drive a lot and I change oils twice a year, for the winter - so October and for the sumner - April/May, way under 5k, more like every 3k so even if there is a little bit old oil left, I am not going to worry much about that.

@@steezyfishing it would run fans at full speed? It would run rich change the sensor but change the oil more often as well in rich running engines

My VW with 264K miles loves a new Liqui Moly oil change. It runs so smooth it purrs. LQ oil is the only oil I'd ever put in a car.

Start with a new plastic upper Timing case
The vacuum pump gasket it common but it’s at the back and typically leaks on the exhaust
