Rachell Ellen Wong is an incredibly gifted artist, playing with subtlety, passion, and great mastery over the instrument... I am sure there are many such fiendishly difficult pieces (perhaps by virtually unknown composers) that still remain to be unearthed and played to the enjoyment of modern audiences... ;-)

Amazing performance! When I'm listening to that perfect transition at 10:54 when the Devil finally makes its entrance, I can't help thinking about "The Music of Erich Zahn" by H.P. Lovecraft. :)
I was going to put a like on it, but i already made it, what a shame we can't do it hundred of times. This performance is phenomal, i love the sul ponticello and the slow glissandi here and there (we can here that kind of things in some other recent "period recording" too (i'm thinking of "Chouchane Siranossian Tartini Concertos", i don't know if it's a modern addition to period playing or something existing for a long time now ?), it add so much to the atmosphere. The unissons are perfects, like everything else, from the choices of tempi, perfect technic to the wonderful sound recording, i'm in awe each time i listen to this. Thanks VoM and Rachell Ellen Wong for this, and please take the time to release your edition when the Devil will leave you some time ! :)
8:55 makes me feel mischievous… Like I’m about talk someone into doing something that sounds like a good idea but will have _spectacular_ consequences either way while I kick back with a bag of snacks and enjoy the fireworks. It sounds like a deep, dark fancy taking shape in the back of your head. An idea momentous and terrible all the same.
In the time of Tartini, the violin had a short fingerboard, also the neck was very different, and players were required to learn to play the high notes without a fingerboard.
I think it's the best version I've heard of the devil's trill.

It may be a classical period bow, or a bow in between the baroque and modern bow

She's using a Monteverdi Bow, it's a baroque bow but the tip is a bit lower like the modern bow.
