Thanks for the memories for a old retired trucker. Still giggle every time I think of driver who forgot to dump their air bags and watch the truck bounce, in one case right into the hopper. How many time did we tell the kids to take their coffee with them before they raised the trailers. Or my person favorite watching a long semi;s steering tires hang over the edge as it went up only to see the king pin break sending the truck to the ground.
Some companies in bc are switching to a new chip train style from tycrop, they remove the possum belly and stretch the boxes out to be the same volume but a flat floor for better cleanout. Makes them more versatile for hauling hog fuel and sawdust without cross contamination. They can be smooth inside with ribs outside or a smoothflow wall design only those are much heavier. Many companies are starting to switch over the tarps to electric for safety as well. There is a new style for b trains from valid manufacturing designed specifically for high loads and they are testing them on 53' trailers as well. Some companies use the ecargo 591-w with decent success 3 seasons of the year except winter and 90% of the quad axle chip trailers we have around here doing stateside are all electric tarps
Electric tarp would be sweet. We use Dr tarp for our tarps here in Ontario. I now run a tycorp smooth flow walking floor now. It unloads real quick on the dumper, 12 to 15 mins walking a load off. Love it
These chip haul trailers are built extremely light weight and try to get as much volume as possible. In the summer the fibre gets really dry and light weight, so the volume is super important so we can max out to 63 500 kg gross weight and keep the same pay rate. So its a volume game for more money.
48s don't have enough volume. We do run extra volume 53ft 4 axle with a drop belly. And the super Bs . Lately I've been trying to stay on the chip haul.
Does the elevating ramp rely on strong parking brakes from the truck and trailer? Or does it have a binding mechanism to help keep the truck and trailer locked in place?
@@endurotruckererniedesjardins damn I want to buy your truck when you’re done with it, if it’s kept that clean, cool video I pull a hopper never seen these
I've seen loads up to 70 000kg gross on that dumper. The backstop also vibrates to loosen frozen or wet saw dust. Side tipping would not work fo this application

I used to haul board out of that plant for Ken Graham; never got to see this end of the mill
Cool, glade you got to see it. I use to know lots of Ken's drivers when I hauled steel for TMT in the white international cab over.

ever go to co gen in princeton?, I used to mill the pellets there but I never knew how you guys did that, nice video!
Well I was thinking as the truck is getting to the top ,, lol ,, I bet you don't keep stuff on your dash top !!!
The cost to build this must be phenomenal! Why not just using large bulk tipping bins?

Cool video! Question. Why not a 53 foot or i guess a 48 ft trailer so there's no gap for unloading? Or this is just one of the many things you haul.

There's a back stop that pivot down on this one.
Is that backstop the orange block behind the rear trailer? Is there another one for the other trailer that we can't see?
I had only seen this once in the past... the diesel engine and truck do not have problem(s) with this lift?
You turn the engine off to dump. Some of the older trucks wouldn't start after lifting. The fuel filters would mt
Do you need to pick everything up in your cab when it comes back down? Would make a cool video if you left a camera running inside while its unloading
Nothing moves in the cab. I keep a extremely clean cab. I have bad allergies so no dirt. I drive in my socks.

Why not just do what we do with cane doubles and have a crane arm that side tips lightweight bins off a skeletrailer

@@endurotruckererniedesjardins umm, yes it would, side tippers arent limited by weight and every side tipper i've driven has a side thumper for mud
Don't leave your coke in the cupholder.
Can't leave anything in the cup holder. No softdrinks for me, no dope for me. Water coffee and the odd beer is my drink list.
@@endurotruckererniedesjardins coffee all day wine at night! Lol, keep your tin in the wind my friend!
Jeez....that dumper is awfully slow compared to the ones I use these days.
Where do you haul to? Is it a permanent dumper or a portable type. We have a portable dumper in Espanola at domtar. It lifts really fast
Ernie, where u hauling from?
Nairn
enduro trucker Ernie Desjardins ok, thanks.
Roads get shitty up north
