Trump's current attorney is too intelligent, talented and effective for him to appreciate.
I used Morgan and Morgan last year and did everything they asked. I could barely get a hold of them and I was constantly assigned new people over a short period of time. Their firm is so large that they lose track of clients. Long story short, I left them and settled my case with another attorney. The settlement check now has my name, my current attorney and Morgan and Morgan. There's no one at Morgan and Morgan that has the authority to relinquish rights to my settlement so it's been sitting in limbo for the past 4 months. Using them last year literally turned my life upside down with their lack of enthusiasm to respond or answer any follow up questions. I respect David, but please consider this firm as your last option after doing research. I hope this post can save at least one person from the hell I'm going through right now because of them.

Media loves to focus on the content that will rile people up. The people peacefully protesting for an end to mass civilian casualties and for our govt to pressure Israel more, whether their end goals are feasible or not, just aren't getting the same coverage as the agitators. And then the average media consumer sees that and extrapolates the bad behavior to the entire protest group. I think you could do better in your coverage of this, just saying. It's not terrible, but it doesn't seem as well rounded as most of your research is.
My brother is a faculty member at UCLA. The student protestors there were truly screwed over and put at risk by the police and university leadership. The students at Columbia escalated things more than any other university, but there just isn't that nuance in most media to report on this accurately. Too many people wanting to white knight for Hamas or the IDF.

Resident of NYC here. A note to the caller regarding NYU protests: NYU doesn't really have a "campus" in the traditional sense. There are buildings that belong to the school but everything outdoors belongs to the city. You will find non-NYU people joining the protests because the gatherings are happening in the middle of a public space like washington square park or wherever. It really isn't that outrageous that outsiders could or would participate in these protests given the layout of the city. Just because someone is found not to have an NYU ID, it doesn't necessarily translate to bad faith actors hijacking a movement to advance their own agenda. Some of it is just other like minded New Yorkers joining a protest that within their neighborhood.
And yet they believe him.

In the late 60s, early 70s, the colleges were protesting to bring our soldiers hone from Vietnam, for equal rights, and for the woman's movement. I was not a college student, but my beliefs were aligned with what they were protesting for, so I stood alongside them at the colleges. I see absolutely nothing wrong with people, sharing the same values, protesting together no matter where it was.

I like David's take on most thinks. He is very much on the button on politics etc. But when it comes to Israel his jewish background influences his taught. He only talked about the process of the protests rather then why they were protesting. Sure some of the students have no clue as to why they are protesting but also people will sup[port Iseral , only because that is what the US does. When have we heard David talk about the deaths in Gaza? The Israel state were correct to respond to the 7th October attack, but now its just murder and revenge. Btw. I think it would be ok to call Brazilian people Hispanic, because the area with original Roman name "Hispania" encompassed the entire Iberian Peninsula. Thus, as Portuguese is by that point of view "Hispanic", you could also give that name to their descendants in Brazil.
I think 45 is sleeping in court mostly because he's nocturnal (and also because he's old). We all know that he stays up all night tweeting. When he was parking his orange a$$ in our White House, he didn't turn up for "work" until midday. Court is happening during what is usually his bedtime. This schedule has disrupted his sleep schedule, and no doubt, his bathroom schedule. All quite hilarious!

As a lawyer for nearly 50 yrs (I started law school 50 yrs ago this fall), I can say I never heard a lawyer call for the reversal of Roe unless he was a Republican politician. No Dems called for its reversal. While people argued about whether its reasoning could have been better, no one ever had an actual improvement that would have garnered a majority of votes. Truth is, some people hate the idea of a zone of privacy, a right of privacy. But in this society, where invasions grow easier with every new technology, a right to privacy becomes ever more important to people. Only those without empathy don't recognize that.
Today, I wish the Court would find that prohibiting abortion was a violation of the 1st Amendment. No religion preached against abortion until it was legal. the Bible says that life begins "at 1st breath." This is the Jewish belief. There is nothing in the Bible about abortion other than when God provided a man (who believed his wife was having an affair and become pregnant) with a drug to induce her to abort the baby if it was her lover's, but not if it was his. Can't use that to prove it's a great sin.
When the Pill was released, the Catholic Church saw it as a threat. Priests had always encouraged huge families--increasing church population... They decided birth control was a sin--even condoms. Only Catholics shared this crazy. It was not in the Bible, tho they pretended it was--probably bemoaning the Bible being in every home and hotel room. They used to change it when they wanted to promote a new rule...
When abortion was legalized the Church went nuts, started to work against it, call for its overturning. Some women (a very tiny minority then) did share their belief that the baby was a person when it could kick, when it was a moving thing inside...but they understood things like rape, incest, threats to a mother's life or health. But women rarely called for bans then. Women who believed abortion was wrong wanted to persuade other women to have the babies, not legislate draconian tortures for women whose pregnancies encountered difficulties.
Priests thought about overturning Roe. To them it meant power. They lost power over women in their congregation when the women gained control over reproduction. 2 events, not necessarily causal. Women have been becoming literate, then educated, then employed progressively since the founding of the country. To get a job, tho, one needs at least some control over reproducing.
Anyway, the overturn Roe fervor was promoted by the Catholic Church and few others (Mormons were for large families, too, but again, they pushed them, encouraged them, and weren't yet trying to legislate them) until the partial birth abortion hysteria was discovered by politicians.
That year--in the 1980s--apx 70 such abortions were performed (People Magazine did a huge story), rare, a specialty in a Denver hospital that women came from as far away as Europe to obtain when doctors feared that a c-section or inducing labor was too dangerous. Skulls, brains, or spinal cords growing outside the body...no survival possible. Huge heads that could injure a woman permanently.
But Republicans (and those priests) saw something they could misrepresent the hell out of. The lifeblood of their party. And so they did. My mom went from telling us that abortions and all medical care had to be between the person and their doctor, ("I don't want any politician in that exam with me!" she said), once explaining to us kids why they had to take a baby to save the mom's life (she was a maternity ward nurse) TO getting all bent out of shape over the "millions of babies" being ripped apart...exactly what Trump is trying to create with his "abortion after birth" bullsh**.
I once answered my mom's phone--the day of the 2000 election--and a woman identified herself as a representative of the local Republican Party, calling to make sure she was getting out to vote "to stop the killing of millions of babies..." going on the blame Clinton, killing so many babies... I corrected her, much to her shock...she had expected a very dingy elderly woman who believed her bull and probably sent money. They would work her into a frenzy over partial birth abortions. So, in spite of the Bible saying in 2 places that life begins "at 1st breath," even Protestants--Evangelicals, esp, but any Republican activists were pulled in, became "Pro-Life." Trying to paint "Pro-Choice" as "Pro-Abortion." Making it political.
But every activity created to promote their anti-abortion message began with prayers--lots of them. They were religious events. Priests told their congregations--priests organized them, then assigned women to be the leaders, tho priests took care of publicity, planning, permits, $$$, everything. They just needed a layperson, particularly a woman of fertile age to be their front-person.
They knew the US had a prohibition against Church being involved in state. The priest hid behind members of their congregation. I was shocked to see how egregiously these guys were doing all the work and ordering women to play the part of leader. The priest was giving me dirty looks--no communion--what was I guilty of? Not being Catholic, actually. My ex said he told me he could not stand what the church he was raised in was doing. We never returned.
Abortion prohibitions are mostly Catholic Church inventions--that's why promoters from the public to the Supreme Court say that birth control is next on their list. They know their priests will be watching, they want credit. Protestants all were in favor of birth control. It reduces the number of abortions by taking away the unwanted pregnancy in the 1st part. But the Catholic Church wants to maximize births. To grow. Protestants never had that motivation. For whatever reason...no central control? Far less missionary zeal in poor countries? No priests and nuns to support for life? No Vatican and Archbishops, Bishops, monasteries, schools....?
But the religious control, organization, funding, all of it, for the movement to overturn Roe was religious, if not all Catholic. Prayers began every activity, and continued throughout. Supporters always used religion as the reason for their beliefs. No other religion shared it until some Protestants were pulled it. Other Bible-based religions refuse to participate, and some still teach according to the language of the Bible--making this anti-abortion craziness not just religiously-based, but a new religion created in the last 50 years! Are we going to legislate new criminal laws every time a religion changes its rules? Less than 18% of Americans are Catholic at any time of their lives. Yet a new belief created just 50-odd years ago is now being forced on every American woman in 20 states, with more following every month.
The 1st Amendment prohibits any act of Congress promoting the establishment of any religion or restricting the free exercise thereof... How much more establishing is possible beyond forcing the birth of more followers of their crazy religion? Forcing women to follow their doctrine. Restricting birth control and IVF would be taking Vatican policy and making it American criminal law. They got away with it so far regarding abortion... I have no religious beliefs that prohibit abortion. I feel my right to reject their religious beliefs is impinged upon by their forcing it on Americans. We are not a Christian Country, and 1000x more, WE ARE NOT A CATHOLIC COUNTRY. We were founded on Enlightenment principles after Inquisitions swept Europe. Our Founders would have stuck with the Anglican Church of the King b4 adopting Catholicism as the official religion of the US. Despite their hijacking our Courts.
