Good job explaining. I have 1 question. Most of the electrical work I do is in private homes small business. I need a new insulation tester to test GFI issues. Would you recommend the 1587 for these jobs. Thank you
Yes, but I would also recommend a CURRENT LEAKAGE CLAMP METER. I just did a video of one recently. Search for one being demonstrated on RUclips,or try using a CIRCUIT ANALYZER. IDEAL INDUSTRIES, AMPROBE, and KLEIN have models on the market. Good luck 👍🏽 and thanks for sharing.
Good afternoon. When the PI and DAR tests is done, does the countdown timer come up and do you get a value or rating at the end of timer 2.4 or 3.6 etc ? Thanks
Yes and yes. The tester is top of the line very high quality packed with features. Especially when you enable FLUKE CONNECT and use the app. Thanks for watching and posting.
I'm not exactly sure, I looked through the users manual it shows the symbol but it doesn't mention what is for. Where the symbol is located by the insulation test voltages on the meter it looks as though it's an electrical symbol for inductance I guess ? Thanks for watching and your question.
Whilst I agree it’s a very good well made meter I find that having to swap the leads over for insulation testing is a bit of a dealbreaker- also it really needs better resolution ,a zeroing function and 200ma on the ohms setting for uk use.
Great meter! I agree it looks awesome. I cannot believe how expensive meters are now. I was pricing this model after your great video but nope I need better job to be able to afford it. (Joke). Anyway I wanted to say thank you for the great videos.
Fluke do make very good multimeters, but their range of insulation testers is not the best in comparison to other manufacturer's in my opinion. They often lack the full scale range and can only save and display all data if you utilise Fluke Connect.

Use this a few times a week, one of my favorite meters 👍 beefy.
… it’s worth its weight in gold 💰
Excellent multimeters! I have the top 289 and this.
Great choices 👍🏽
Whats the blue squiggly line on top of the 50-1000v insulation option
