I had a 1587 then 1587FC that is marginally better (featurewise) than the 1587. Still there is no bargraph, no 10A range, no LoZ voltage, no Lo Ohms, no NVC, no relative function. I have two 289 and they are the east used meters in my lineup, super accurate but just not peactical to use.
All my digital meters up to last month were Fluke but they really need to rethink their game. Fluke reminds me about another great company with the best product in the market RIM Blackberry.
Last month I bought a clamp on, Amprobe acdc54 navigator and I feel that I have more features in that meter than any of my Fluke clamp on. Note that Amprobe clampon was made in Taiwan and it was developed around 2009!

Did you know that FLUKE owns AMPROBE? Also the 54NAV and that entire series by AMPROBE are rebrands from a company named APPA. I own a 54NAV also and it one of the best meters next to the FLUKE 376 pound for pound. If FLUKE would've made the 289 the same size as the 87V with all those features it would've been nicer. I still think it's one of the best meters ever made, if not the best meter ever made ! That's just my opinion.

@@TheElectriciansToolChannel I am aware of the Fluke - Amprobe connection; I paid top dollar for the Navigator, which is an offshore rebranded meter designed 15 yr ago, with out dual display or Bluetooth and available cheaper under other rebrands or the oem. Notwistanding I bought it because I want a serious company to back up the instrument if things go south. Also note that there are not many equivalent units out there.
In the future I think Gossen or Hioki unit might find a place in my line up....
