FAWM Track#5 'Aurora' (Track from scratch)

- My process of creating FAWM track 5, from scratch, including basic arrangement at the end. I'm not impressed by my tracks so far for this FAWM, I think it's obvious to myself that I skipped the last couple of years, and I'm capable of much better...but they're at least pleasant and the practice is really beneficial. These are all very 'safe zone' and easy tracks for me, but then I am rushing these out at a 'too' fast pace so far. Since I'm actually close to finishing (I'm up to track 12 in only 8 days), I'm hoping I'll be able to start injecting a bit more interest, musicality and perhaps experimentation in forthcoming attempts.
I'll continue to share the odd ones that I actually record in OBS/Twitch now and again but if you want to hear the entire list of tracks that I've done so far up to this point you can find them at: write.fawm.org...
I use Distrokid for music distribution. If you want to try them, consider using my referral link for 7% off which also gives me a small kickback: distrokid.com/...

I appreciate being able to see the work that ACTUALLY goes into your creations. The details of "fiddling" with sounds to get just the right feel brings a whole new level of appreciation for what you produce.
You make pure magic with those electronic toys.
That this type of music can be defined as electronic, spatial, multidimensional jazz. This strange thought came to me now, even though I'm sitting and focused on work. Just a little revelation ;-)
so cathartic... love the Magic Whistle too. Masterful. Thanks. Take your time so you are happy. Everyone can listen to one of these a few times over a week.
this feels so organic, well done :)
As always, beautiful work Pat. Love the "whistle" melody, Kitaro vibes.
Many thanks :)
what a gem!
Congrats on your Schallwelle nomination.
You're amazing. Thank you for showing us your work. The music, fantastic !
Thank you for occasionally showing us how you make your amazing music. I recently bought the Pigments and didn't realize you could just drag and drop effects onto the knobs.
And the composition, as always, is mesmerizing.
Thank you for sharing your workflow - inspiring, educating and relaxing 🤩
Thanks!
Amazing.
Incredible! Always a pleasure to see the work behind the amazing music you produce! hats off, bud!
Top work Pat, always top work. The process, the sounds, the build up great to watch. Still no A88 mkII but soon lol
Very interesting wave shaping and editing while live. Great soundscapes. Thanks for sharing the experience!
Wow! I appreciate the detailed video. Thank you!
Inspirational work! Love the workflow. Thanks Bro!
Great stuff as always SA..
Excellent training session. Your music is greatly appreciated. This walk through has been very educational as well as pleasant. For those of us who are visual learners, talking is very distracting.
Thank you for taking time to post this.🎉
🎶💫🪐🫶good vibes
I could listen to the "fiddling" and be a happy man. Great stuff.
I see that Nils Berglund used "Stellar Drift" as the soundtrack to one of his simulation videos a couple of days ago. That was an unexpected crossover! (He gave due credit and linked to the channel.)
Nice track❤
Hi, great piece as usual.
Was für ein Klangbild
Thank u
I saw your message on Martin's livestream and found myself here. I have liked your content. How would you rate Opsix over 10 compared in making sound design while you have phase plant, dune 3, pigments and others?
It's just very different, I don't know how to rate this out of 10. OpSix is an FM synth, closer to something like a DX7 and therefore is very good at FM-like sounds
This whistle gives goosebumps! Exactly TD - Ricochet or Rubycon, don't remember exactly now...
Neither of those two. More like Tangram/White Eagle period for TD (assuming that I understand what you mean by "This whistle")
@@pauldavisthefirst I mean the above track "OpSix Whistle Lead". Yes, there's parts in Tangram, White Eagle and Poland. What I actually had in mind was track 1 and 4 of Pinnacles by Edgar Froese 😃
What do you think about Cakewalk ?
Very interesting, what advice can you give for a noob who is looking for a cool music software to start ?
Depends how much of a noob you are. Bitwig Studio is my preferred DAW, it's pretty easy to learn IMO but I'm coming from having decades of DAW experience so my perspective is a little skewed.
I’d add that you really want to pick a tool and learn it well. Folks who are proficient always look like they’re magicians, but they “just” put in the work and time it takes to master the tools they use. Godspeed!
What do you think of the opsix?
It's an excellent FM synth, and quite easy to program. I really like it.
@@stateazure it will be my next purchase for sure 🤙
