I must say Lsailor you made my day with this video, easy to follow and absolutely no BS. Straight to the point. You sir are freakin awesome. Thank you so much!!
Nice work bud! I did my daughters SantaFe and found that having the oil pan on a hydro jack allowed me to move the motor up and down to help get the Pulley off and even access some bolts. I think I only got one or two from below. Your video was a big help to watch before tackling the project.

When you took off the reservoir did you remove the hose attached to it?Did you have any issues putting the hose back on the coolant reservoir? Did it just slide back on or did you have use a pick or something to get it back on?

Okay so I noticed a slight rattling noise coming from my belt drive I already replaced the tensioner. , The idler ,and the alternator/pulley.. the only ones that haven't been is the water pump, power steering and ac compressor and crank. The noise sounded like it was coming from the water pump area. When I drive my car it sounds like a scraping noise it comes and goes and then when Im stopped at a light or in idle you can hear that rocking noise and my belt sounds funny. My car isn't over heating but does that sound like my water pump is going out? Got a 2006 Hyundai sonata it's got 201,000 miles on it .. I bought it with 190,000 no work has bene done to it and I've done quite a bit to it thus far..
@@nikkiacartwright4024 Thanks for watching my video! It sounds very much like the bearings going in the water pump. If you can, get a view of the bottom of it and look for a slight leak. Also, check your coolant level constantly (cold). Changing it is a bear and unless you are mechanically inclined I would take it either to a dealer or a trusted mechanic. I Called AutoZone in my area they didn't have a water pump in stock for my 06 sonata 3.3 L so they orders one it will be at the store by 2pm tomorrow .. or do I just need to replace the pulley odds are I should just replace both the pump and pulley to be on the safe side? Because I'm making a 1200 mile trip to Texas Sunday morning ..
@@nikkiacartwright4024 When you buy a new pump, it will come with a new gasket, but you will need to take the pulley off the old one. Good luck! Best, The Sailor.

I'm starting a water pump job on a 3.5 litre Sonata. The people I bought it from were quoted 3000 dollars from the dealer. They say the motor has to be taken out. I have a lift in my home garage. I am gonna resell the car after and make about 4 grand profit for doing this job. Not bad for a weeks work.
Congratulations! That is super! I'm glad you watched my video. You may like my other videos. Just type Lsailor1 in the RUclips search bar. Best, The Sailor.
If your jack is dropping over time, especially the hour it takes to do this job, your jack is beyond its service and needs to be replaced. Don’t die by being cheap!

Great video. I have a problem though. My mechanic did this and then the car wld not start computer said crank shaft sensor so he did that now he can't get it to line back up to set the time says it will just turn a quarter of the way each way. IDK I'm not a mechanic and he seems like a good guy but just at a loss right now. Any help from anyone wld be appreciated. Thanks
