Earthquakes off the coast of Washington

Several earthquakes rattled the Juan de Fuca plate, but there were no tsunami warnings in the area.

If you note the diagram the earthquakes were of the coast of BC (Vancouver Island) not State of Washington.

The zone runs from off the coast of Vancouver Island all the way down toward Oregon. Yes, the earthquakes themselves were centered off the coast of V.I. so it was somewhat mis-leading as far as exact location.

Yeah. This TV station is in the middle of the western part of Oregon, so saying "off the coast of Washington" makes it sound closer, more relatable, and of concern? 😅

I checked out British Columbia, 6.4 earthquake 284 klms from Campbell River. Also up the coast to Yukon and Alaska..minor ones.🇨🇦

Definitely not. the Straight of Juan de Fuca was mispronounced, and if the diagram is correct, the quakes occurred of of the coast of British Columbia - not Washington State...
