My wife and I just got a model Y where at the tint shop now we’re gonna get 5% tint. We live in a very sunny part of the country so this is going to help. Thank you so so much we’ve done 20% tint on the past on our cars, and it never seemed strong enough in the summer.
I think 10% is good, 5% is a bit dark to me. I would be scared to drive around at night
10% is a great sweet spot imo. 5 is a little too dark, I just really like the privacy lol. I don’t recommend people to do what I do though.. I’d recommend them go 10%+
@@W3II doubt there’s any noticeable difference in visability between the 2. My car has 5% on the back half and 15% on the front 2. Honestly, even 15% and 5% are very similar and only noticeable in terrible lighting conditions. 5 and 10 are dark asf and 15% is the darkest you can go before your visibility becomes heavily sacrificed.
@Luh Ryan thank you for your input on 10%. I have gotten used to 20% at night and I have been debating on whether to get 15% or 10%. My main concern is visibility at night. If 10% is too dark at night, I would consider 15%. 20% in the day time you can see inside the car at certain angles. I'm sure 15% wouldn't be any different in that same regard, but at night I would still like to have tolerable visibility that's safe enough to drive comfortably. However, I also have grown to like the privacy. I don't do anything that would give a cop a reason to be suspicious and I have nothing to hide, I just like the privacy. But if 10% is too dark for night driving, I'd rather not risk it
@@borronachoproductions6865if you’re planning to do 10%, just do 5. 15 is the lowest you should go before you completely sacrifice night vision. with 15% you can still see curbs when making intersection turns just fine.
@@borronachoproductions6865personally, 15% front, and 5% rear is perfect.
Hi David! Did they advise you of any issues for removing the old tint on the back window? as far as the defrosters go? Now that you re-tinted do you have issues with the back defrosters? I am looking to re-tint mine bc i went 35% and i hate it, i want to go with 20% but debating on it because i dont want to risk any damage to the defrosters. Curious if the new tint shop had any issues for you or even pointed that out?
I have extreme light sensitivity, did 5% around except stock front windshield a year ago. I have no problems driving at night. Backing up is a little sketchy but driving at night, no problem. Everyone's sight capabilities after better so it's incorrect to call someone a liar who has better night vision than yourself
Que porcentaje de tinte usas en el parabrisas?
Nice video, clear an concise. What type of tint did you use this time around? Did you go with the llumar stratos? or did you go with llumar IRX?
Very informative video. Thank you. May I ask you for the opinions I will tint my model 3 highland and in my country dark tint anre allow.
My plan are 30% windshield and 15% side windows and the back glass. But I can't decide on the roof. I want the roof to be a bit darker than the windows but not too dark and since the roof is factory tint to maybe 20% so what is the % for the roof. I can't decide between 30% or 45%. What is your recommendation? I want to roof to be a little bit darker than 15% tinted windows.
Now, I need to save up money for the tint!!
2 cars = double the price! 😂
If you had to re-do the tint, what would you do? Would you still do the 5%? And what brand of tint did you get vs. your girlfriend?
ive driven a family member’s car 5% all around at night on a highway with very few street lamps. its not that bad you will have a difficult time seeing the white lines from the side window and you will have you wont see anything but headlights in your mirrors. and nothing in the rear view. 5% at night is kinda like driving a box truck or cargo van without windows you just gotta be extra vigilant.
@@Mr-furley Got it, thanks for the info. I feel like what you described really isn't worth it especially considering as opposed to 15% where you probably have better visibility and only slightly reduced privacy. I've been considering 5% vs 15% on my car for the past month but I keep hearing these stories (similar to what you said) about how you need to be extra wary at night and I just feel like the extra hassle isn't worth it.
Thanks bro for the update on the tints! How much was it for you to get your tints done? In the Bay Area I got a quote for $800, $300 for windshield and $300 for glass roof in the Bay Area so I’m curious what average is!
5% tint is like impossible to drive at night mang
Hi David, where can I go to get the 10% window tint?
I'd like to know that too!
That's a cute pot and plant.
