  • Is there anything more romantic than a flight on a Boeing 747?! Well, I recently flew FIRST CLASS with Lufthansa on one of Lufthansa's Boeing 747-8's (D-ABYH)! The flight was from Shanghai (PVG) to Frankfurt (FRA).

This Lufthansa 747-8 First Class experience was exceptional. Watch this video to see what made the trip so special. And there was a lot! Not only was sitting in front of the pilots in Lufthansa 747-8 First Class amazing, but the cabin crew kept the champagne flowing!
Along the way, this flight report will include information about the seats, the inflight entertainment, the food, and the cabin crew from this Lufthansa Boeing 747-8 flight! You can even watch the Boeing 747-8 take off!

@@sergej23kv But you don't pay ten times as much, my next trip to the Cape is 3 1/2 times, but that includes a car (Audi A3 or equivalent) for two weeks and excess baggage which I'd have to pay extra for in cattle class with no guarantee it would arrive with me. I'd need to allow a day to recover from the flight and maybe a couple to wait for my bags, it's all extra costs on top of the cheap flight.

Joe Sutter has created the one and only Queen of the Sky - the most beautiful and most majestic aircraft called Boeing 747 and he thought about to build a window on the nose of this aircraft, but it was to difficult to do it and the weight of it was to heavy and the security and safety issues were to much to do it! Also if he had done it there would be no place for the Radom, the Radar, Transmitter and other things which is necessary for the pilots to fly her! That's the reason why the Boeing 747 has no window at the nose and I find it absolutely good and it is a very good decision from Mr. Joe Sutter that he didn't do it for our safety and security while flying with the world's most beautiful and most majestic aircraft ever and I know what I say about it! Lovely greetings from Sarah and have always a wonderful flight to all of your destinations around the world in a Boeing 747-400 or Boeing 747-8i and maybe we will see each other 🙋💖✈️🙋💖✈️🙋💖✈️🙋💖✈️🙋💖✈️

Back in 1992, I was visiting family in Europe and got to fly in seat 1B of a 747 (KLM, I think) -- it was definitely not first class (sort of between modern "economy plus" and "business class"). I loved all the extra legroom up at the front bulkhead, but the coolest thing was the idea that I was out in front of the pilot & copilot, and how different it felt during takeoff & landing than my more usual seat back near the wing or tail. Thanks for bringing back the memories!

I flew on a Lufthansa 747-400 back in 2009 from Los Angeles to Frankfurt. I worked in the airline industry back in the late 80' to the mid 90's working around many types of airliners and I have been aboard and worked around 747's many times. But I had never flown in a 747 before.
I was not in first class but towards the back of the plane and I was treated like I was in first class compared to other airlines with free alcohol drinks and great service. But for me it was mostly about getting to finally fly in a 747 and I enjoyed every minute of it.

I just flew in LH first in the same seat. Definitely my favorite seat on any plane I've flown. You're so close to the front that the fuselage is already coming to a point, so your windows give you a little bit of a view forward that you don't get in other seats. Combined with the forward facing camera and you have an uninterrupted field of view from about the plane's 8 o'clock to 2 o'clock.
Also the quietest flight I've ever experienced. Not sure if it was distance from the engines or if that is just how the 748 is.

Such a shame but I understand the economics. Four engines always win over two, she's Queen of the Skies all right. I gotta brag about this one. As a 24 year old I was given an FOC (free of charge) ticket from British Airways as a thank you for all the work I had done when working for Union Travel in Sydney. It was a firm ticket meaning I couldn't be bumped off en route Sydney - London and I too, had seat No 1 on the outbound flight, and seat No 2 on the return. Free drinks were upstairs and being the youngest long-haired passenger in First Class they all looked at me sideways when I entered the bar. One gentleman asked, "How come a young fella like you travels first class?". I think I pissed him off when I told him the scotch he was drinking cost more than what I paid. Stick that up ya, mate. It was awesome and so quiet the whole way and service was tremendous. Now that I'm out of the travel industry it really irks me to pay full fare. What a buzz.

B747 is my favourite plane. My first flight onboard the Queen of the Skies was LH B747-200 from Frankfurt to Vancouver in 1998 with those small 14” TVs attached to the ceiling. Glory days for Boeing 747s.

Great video! Although I don’t get the ‘hype’ of the seat position in front of the cockpit. The small windows make it that you have the same view as anywhere else on the plain. A nose window...now,that would be a blast!

So did I in 98 going from Chicago to Tokyo on a United 747-400. At that time the seats up front were business and upstairs was first class of course. I was 12 years old and flew out to visit my Aunt who teaches American military students stationed in Japan. So I've done the Tampa- Chicago- Narita several times. The bullet trains in Tokyo are amazing.

Have flown on Lufthansa ´s 747-8 multiple times to and from the US to Bangalore, India and almost always in seat 1A with my wife next to me. It has always been a smooth experience especially on take-off, but more importantly, Lufthansas service and cabin layout are impecable - the best of any airline and we highly recommend them.
As for the writer questioning the safety of the seat, I suggest he take a train. 🙄

@@randolphclarke4674 because of you racists people commit suicide. Why are you judong people on the basis pf spmething they did not to do . For instance would you feel happy if I insulted you mom's culture. No you wouldn't. And it is not his fault that he was born in India. What is even the problem. Indians did not desire taking down pewdiepie. They just liked T-series and subscribed so that they can watch more. Pewdiepie is honestly a racial discriminator. He thinks what he does by insulting other nation's culture is for memes but it leaves a huge impact on the whole country's citizens. While a young man 25 years ago, I flew Lufthansa's Boeing 747-200 ER from Frankfurt to Sydney, Australia via Singapore in almost a 24 hour trip. It was a very enjoyable flight and I was massively spoiled with things like Heineken, wine, food and video music that were at my disposal as long as I was awake - no questions asked!. It was trip that was really filled with tons of fun! Things have changed now!
