@Anna Elizabeth This is the first time I've ever seen someone "hate to be THAT person" where being that person was pretty alright. It is totally okay to be person-who-expects-people-to-recognize-Little-Richard. Keep on keepin' on. That said, sound-alikes are a thing in the voice acting world, and I'm a little surprised that Magic School Bus was actually Little Richard, and not just someone going for that.
RyuuNoGin The Allosaur also tears into that bloody carcass multiple times if you click on it. That moment when you realize a Magic School Bus Game would be Rated M by today's standards!
There's one big loophole that I like to call: HA-Dinosaurs. "No teacher can argue that an Allosaurus tearing apart its prey is bound to be pretty gruesome. And if that prey just happens to be the signers of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo--well, that's bound to be pretty messed up, too."
Real talk, Ian, I want to make sure you're still doing this 'cause you want to. The last couple intros have me a little concerned, you sound a little unhappy. We love your content, just want to make sure you're okay first. The humorous part is funny, just want to make sure it's just to be funny, and not an actual feeling you have! Of course I could be reading too much into this, in which case, disregard my extreme empathy, but... just want to make sure you're still feeling it!
I'm actually having more fun on YT this year than I have in at least a year! Really enjoying the videos I've been working on lately, I've been having a really good time. I appreciate the concern, though! Always nice to be cared about.
I remember in the "time of dino's" book there was this T-Rex brutally eating a stegosaurus or something. Blood and all. Was pretty crazy considering I remember it like 15 years later.
That was brutal! There was another really grim scene in that book in which a Miasaura nesting ground was getting destroyed by a swarm of small predatory dinosaurs. Baby's were being taken by the neck, the parents were getting trampled, it was awful! Magic School Bus is actually really dark. Edit: M.s Frizzle was telling the kids that the Dino's will be buried alive.
Still reminds me of the nightmares I had from about 9 to 11, half pun intended. But how did I end up with dreams of people having brutal deaths when I was around that age? Then when I'd have those dreams, it's like I could feel each person's fear as they died. Can you sometimes feel like you can read thoughts of people in your dream, while you dream? It's like that, *but worse.* Yeah, having a dream of two blue-skinned guys infecting a train employee with their Blueness... Wasn't so cool. After that, the employee (who said "THANK YOU" to the two who infected him) tried convincing someone else to join him in blueness. That other young man who was told about the blueness (this other guy was bearded and blond) didn't want to join, then the train employee started murdering bearded guy with a hatchet, while I saw from the eyes of the murder victim. Wooo, dreams.
Yeah it's a demo for their Dino Dino Clubhouse online game. You basically create your own dino character out of the MSB characters and see other characters online, but it never came out so all we're left with is the character creation.
McDuders Nowhere near as terrifying as the last levels of that mini-game in which you're desperately trying to escape being eaten by a T-Rex. The upcoming obstacles get so fast they're basically jumpscares! And even that is not as bad as hearing Ms. Animal lover Phoebe cheerfully singing about the death of the Dinosaurs!
The fact that The Magic School Bus will be made into a Netflix original series has me hyped. It might be a direct reboot or what if its an aged Ms. Frizzle and she's going on field trip adventures with the kids from the parents of the original series... Imagine Carlos had a kid and this kid carried on the legacy of saying bad puns.
I played this game SO much when I was a kid, it came with our Windows 95 computer along with a bunch of other games and random software. The other Magic Schhool Bus game I played was the outer space one, they were so much fun!
Ah, this game was my childhood. I obviously love dinosaurs, and I kept coming back to it even if I didn't know what I was doing or was bored. Thanks for reviewing this semi-treasure nostalgia overload, Ian. Never had music in my game version, though.
The bus transformations were always my favorite part of this game. I seem to recall them having some super-funky music to listen to, and something about watching those mechanical limbs extend outwards was just so satisfying to see.
i̲̅t̲̅'s̲̅ a̲̅n̲̅ a̲̅p̲̅p̲̅ t̲̅h̲̅a̲̅t̲̅ l̲̅e̲̅t̲̅'s̲̅ y̲̅o̲̅u̲̅ m̲̅a̲̅k̲̅e̲̅ y̤̮o̤̮ṳ̮r̤̮ o̤̮w̤̮n̤̮ c̤̮ṳ̮s̤̮t̤̮o̤̮m̤̮i̤̮z̤̮e̤̮ k̤̮e̤̮y̤̮b̤̮o̤̮a̤̮r̤̮d̤̮ c̤̮a̤̮l̤̮l̤̮e̤̮d̤̮ R̤̮a̤̮i̤̮n̤̮b̤̮o̤̮w̤̮K̤̮e̤̮y̤̮ It lets you use cool fonts and (*^_^*) Kaomoji without getting a list online
Seriously. This might be my favorite video yet. I played the everloving hell out of this game as a kid, yet there was so much I had forgotten about it. That ending was fucking inspired. Fantastic comedic timing, and the setup for it way earlier, paired with the singing... my god, you've done a good thing today.
This was one of my favorite games when I was a kid! I wanted to be a paleontologist when I was growing up so I played this constantly! Thanks for reviewing and bringing back so many fond memories
This game was actually one of my favorites as a little kid, granted I was maybe 6 when I played it so everything took me much longer, but it still held my attention for a really long time. I'm glad to be part of that small handful of people who remember this fondly.
1. It's paleontologist2. It could be if it was in the late Cretaceous period, the continents were pretty similar to the way they are now. It's probably just laziness on the developer's part, though.
The only Magic School Bus game I remember having as a kid was the Solar System one, and honestly, now that I've seen so many great RUclips videos of other people talking about other Magic School Bus games (like THIS one) I'm thinking the one I had may have been the best one. That game was just like a platformer game, and each planet had different gravity offering different challenges. It was a good time. Also, I know I'm super late to saying this, but Ian, if you're reading this, I like the new intro thing you do on these reviews. Everything is classy as sh** when it spins slowly around. I dig it.
Oh, God, the nostalgia... I had this game when I was a kid, and I freaking loved it. I was obsessed with dinosaurs, and this game fed that immensely. You should also review "The Magic School Bus Explores The World of Animals".
I'm not gunna lie. i fell into that "kid who was super into dinosaurs" catagory. Had thisa game at home (along with the explore the solar system one) And Did seek out photographing all the dinosaurs AND collecting all the dino cards. Watching you review this has flung TONS of memories back, and i find myself surprised i can remember so many of the sound effects, character lines, and other random bits that just are permanently engraved in my brain.
+BrutalMoose Forgive me for being that guy, but if you're gonna do these games, you should do "The Magic School Bus Explores the Solar System.". EASILY the best of the series! Doesn't hurt that I actually had that one as a kid. Was always sorta bummed out that I could never get the QuickTime integration working at the time, tho, so I never got to see the transition videos of the bus flying to each planet. Also, it's kinda weird to see Pluto included in the game, given the body's reclassification just a few years later. :~/
My two most favorite games growing up were Moop and Dreadly in the Treasure on Bing Bong Island (Point and click game that's impossible to find these days) and Dinosaur Adventure 3D (which had a surprisingly good story and minigames) it might be my bias talking but I think these games aged really well and I'd recommend to anyone who wants to pick them up (if you can find em)
I played this game A TON at home as a kid, never a classroom, and you hit it right on the head. Loved MSB? Check. Loved Dinos? Check. So this was awesome to me at 4-6 years old.
Hey Ian, do you happen to have a list of the songs that you use throughout your videos? Love the stuff you use at points, especially the bossa nova stuff you have in your intros.
I am not a 90s kid or an early 2000s kid (I was born in the early 2000s) but they'd show this at my daycare and sometimes in class. I assume they still do it
I'm 16 years old and my chemistry teacher showed us a Magic School Kids video a few months ago to get out of teaching. They've been showing it to us since I was in elementary. It hasn't gone out of style yet.
Oh my gawd! Back in the dark times before I was allowed to have consoles in the home (very dark times), Meteor Meltdown was MY JAM! I got so dang far. I remember getting tons of those slates that gave you dino information too.
I got this nostalgia rush when Carlos said Meteor Meltdown, I totally remember playing that, as well as the one where you defended the dino eggs from predators and that weird dino combiner at the end. xD
I'm definitely in need of something obscure or weird to cover, I agree! I've been searching around and I think I might have something for you in an upcoming video.
Another idea would be to have a patreon event on runescape. I remember joining your livestream one day and would love if you'd make an osrs runescape account for your backers to join into a runescape adventure with you maybe monthly?
Thank you for the nostalgia, Ian. I had this one, as well as the one about rocks and geology (hell if I know what it was called) and I played them SO often.
Idk who your core audience is, Mr. Ian BrutalMoose, but I'm a thirty two year old man, and I've watched all your episodes and most of your collaborations, and I do this on a nearly obsessive fandom level... nearly. I wouldn't do you, or anything, but I would be super excited to meet you. Wow. Great moves. Keep it up. Proud of you, old boy. Such bravery, I've not seen.
As a fan of the series, been playing this myself and I would probably agree that their minigames are among the top tier. I like to see you playing and reviewing the other series.
I remember this game from a 3 pack of magic school bus games I rented from the library once. I know it wasn't my favorite from that pack (the one where they went to space was) but apparently I played it enough at home to remember it unlike the mysterious 3rd game in that pack that I have no recollection of other than it existing.
I have not seen this game since the second grade, I was surprised by how much of this i remembered. I basically deja vu'd the entire video, that was some nice nostalgia
It sounds like they were able to afford most of the voices for the kids from the show...Shame Tomlin wasn't there to play Frizzle, but I guess the game developers didn't have the money that the show's creators had...(I mean keep in mind, the show had Dom Deluise, Carol Channing, Ed Asner, Dolly Parton and Malcolm Freaking McDowell among others voice one-off characters, not to mention a legend like Lily Tomlin voicing who is practically the lead character for the show, so they must have had pretty good money...)
I never played the Magic School Bus in the computer lab (then again the most I remember from those classes is Kid Pix Deluxe 3). However, the Dinosaur one was one of my absolute favorites as a kid, esp since my Dinosaur phase started at like 5 or 6, so this still brought back all that fuzzy nostalgia.
I adore Magic School Bus Explores the Solar System to this day. Had it at home as a child, and I learned all about the solar system that way, plus there's just an incredible quantity of clickable stuff. So much fun.
The best part about the magic school bus games is that there are more horror inducing morphs in later games. I remember Magic school bus explores the world of animals having some very weird ones.
This is a renaissance of moose content. You've been churning out really good content and engaging live streams like your pants are on fire. I'm really excited to see you keep making progress and taking risks
I remember playing this game during my school year. Yes, there wasn't much to do in it, but I remember the good times I had with it. Also, you forgot to mention the board game mini-game which featured a dinosaur host. I don't know if it was in this game or another version, but that's what I remember most from playing this.
GAH. He used the clip from the TV show where Arnold pulls of his helmet in space. That was an EXTREMELY traumatic image that gave me nightmares as a child. WHY did you have to choose THAT clip, Ian? I'd almost forgotten about it...
I was one of those kids who had Magic School Bus games at home. I think I spent the most time with Rainforest and Inside the Earth, but I also owned Age of Dinosaurs, Inside the Human Body, and Solar System. I was also pretty hardcore into Magic School Bus though.
Wait, hold up- the Magic School Bus theme was performed by Little Richard? Seriously? That's amazing.
I KNOW RIGHT? Probably the greatest discovery I made while working on this video.
I hate to be THAT person but really guys? I knew this even as a kid because little richard's voice is so distinctive.
DID SOME ON SAY DINOSAURS?!?!?!
No, I think someone said "dinos".
5:30 So we're just gonna ignore the bloody carcass back there?
yep!
RyuuNoGin The Allosaur also tears into that bloody carcass multiple times if you click on it.
That moment when you realize a Magic School Bus Game would be Rated M by today's standards!
shook
My thoughts exactly
There's one big loophole that I like to call: HA-Dinosaurs.
"No teacher can argue that an Allosaurus tearing apart its prey is bound to be pretty gruesome. And if that prey just happens to be the signers of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo--well, that's bound to be pretty messed up, too."
I played this game to death on Windows 95. Literally. That computer died a horrible, overheated death.
R.I.P. computer.
The great big Best Buy in the sky.
same, legend game
Lol did that PC also have a steel beige casing?
RIP in peace
I love these old Magic School Bus games.~
PBG YES
daddy pbg!
PeanutButterGamer Me too
PeanutButterGamer I think they were my favorite games on PC except for Kid Pix Studio 1994 and Roller Coaster Tycoon 1.
PeanutButterGamer I remember playing them at my local library all the time when I was little. This one in particular was definitely my favorite.

Good to hear! Just wanted to make sure. Too often we let those types of things go unchecked!
Yo that's really sweet, thank you for being like that.
Deja View real talk, thats super cool of u dood : )
"Beloved-ish"
MSB: Solar System was the _shit,_ bro. My ringtone was a piece of music from the game for several years.
That ending was art.

Oh wow now I want a copy of this book. OwO
Still reminds me of the nightmares I had from about 9 to 11, half pun intended. But how did I end up with dreams of people having brutal deaths when I was around that age? that fursona/scalesona/whateversona generator is goddamn horrifying
Is that what that is?!?
Yeah it's a demo for their Dino Dino Clubhouse online game. You basically create your own dino character out of the MSB characters and see other characters online, but it never came out so all we're left with is the character creation.

McDuders Can you really call them fursonas if they don't have any fur?
Snipper Joey *Scalesona intensifies*
>"We don't talk about Morph-o-Sauros"
>Actually doesn't talk about Morph-o-Sauros
Now there's a respectable man!
cuts to showing it
Did....did Ian just drop the Phil of the Future theme in a video about the Magic School Bus?
Yes
Is it weird that I geeked out when Ian played the "Phil of the Future" theme?
googamp32 I remembered it too.
Too many member berries.
lol I actually geeked out too. :P No one ever seems to mention Phil of the Future, so really happy.
It reminded me that I need to watch it some time. It would be cool to see if I can see myself since I was an extra in it a lot.
did someone say DINOS?
Yes, you.
I've not seen such bravery
Ian is spoiling the fuck out of us
First rule of morphasaurus: don't talk about morphasaurus
*DID SOMEONE SAY MORPHASAURUS*
Oh look gomez
Hey Ian, I'm intrigued to what mic/audio interface/pre-amp you're using, it sounds fabulous - sorry if it's somewhere on the internet already
It's no problem! The mic is an Audio Technica AT2035, and the audio interface is a Steinberg UR12.
Thanks!
Shouldn't you have asked Egg for his set-up lol
OH GOOD YOU IMMEDIATELY SHOWED THE SCENE FROM THIS SHOW THAT TOTALLY TRAUMATIZED ME AS A KID. I WANTED TO SEE ARNOLD DIE TODAY.
*nostalgia intensifies*
that sounds great... but I bet the human body episode will grosser than the original *cough* *cough* weird cgi.
If Only...
Oof.
I played this game SO much when I was a kid, it came with our Windows 95 computer along with a bunch of other games and random software. The other Magic Schhool Bus game I played was the outer space one, they were so much fun!
This was my most played one, and then the rainforest/jungle one after that. I spent more hours in this than I did on all my WoW characters combined.
Ah, this game was my childhood. I obviously love dinosaurs, and I kept coming back to it even if I didn't know what I was doing or was bored. Thanks for reviewing this semi-treasure nostalgia overload, Ian. Never had music in my game version, though.
That "oh wow" at 4:42 was amazing
I love the callback to his review of the invisible dad movie.
Who else loves Uncle Ian?
Tyranitoons I DO!
Tyranitoons Love ya uncle Ian!
Tyranitoons He's everyone's uncle. That's what makes him the best.
No, but he's his own grandpa.
ankle Ian is a vuri gud veedeo man
The bus transformations were always my favorite part of this game. I seem to recall them having some super-funky music to listen to, and something about watching those mechanical limbs extend outwards was just so satisfying to see.
Fun fact, I actually had the REAL Ms Frizzle the books were based on as a substitute teacher for social studies once.
Ethan Moore Thats actually really cool.
2:15 Man, Part 4 Josuke really let himself go...
Complete with shitty hair

did someone say dinos
i'd love to draw a real life dino
silly_maze_ you have an entire movie series that tells you why dinosaurs alive now would be a bad idea. A very bad one
Did someone say Garage Sale? ;)
did someone say chocolate?
did soneone say dildos
4:08 For an educational game, it's pretty surprising they ignored continental drift. Earth didn't look like that back then!
This game looks like it had the budget of a *piece of wood*
Pretty expensive.
CasaiAgicap This time period makes for a good restin place
Oh, wow.
They really were begging for an *Accident*.
PIECE OF WOOD
This was one of my favorite games when I was a kid! I wanted to be a paleontologist when I was growing up so I played this constantly!
Thanks for reviewing and bringing back so many fond memories
Those Morph-a-Saurus flashbacks... why do they torment me so?
I remember loving the bus transformation sequences.
I also remember the minigames.
This is a real blast from the past.
did someone say piece of wood?
This game was actually one of my favorites as a little kid, granted I was maybe 6 when I played it so everything took me much longer, but it still held my attention for a really long time. I'm glad to be part of that small handful of people who remember this fondly.
i remember the magic school bus and i was 2000's kid
Hay it's a classic, I'm sure they rerun old episodes. :).
Same
They still do show old episodes as of 2017...
I am too a kid of the 2000s and I remember watching the magic school bus as well.
4:08 Okay, I'm no... Howtheearthlookedbackthenologist... but I don't think that the earth looked like that back then.
1. It's paleontologist2. It could be if it was in the late Cretaceous period, the continents were pretty similar to the way they are now. It's probably just laziness on the developer's part, though.
I was just done watching another brutalmoose video , how lucky!
I dig it.
Ian must REALLY love Dinos.
Nana-Kyoto did somebody say Dinos?
4:08 Jurassic Colorado is located in Minnesota which is located in Arkansas
It could have very well been Arkansas. I overlayed a US map to get as good of a guess as I could, but that MSB map was very messed up.
nah. more midwestern than arkansas.
The magic school bus is my childhood in one show
Oh, God, the nostalgia... I had this game when I was a kid, and I freaking loved it. I was obsessed with dinosaurs, and this game fed that immensely.
You should also review "The Magic School Bus Explores The World of Animals".
Oh man i'm in the first 30 viewers, also Ian if you could you should totallly check out "Magic School bus explores the earth"
Ninjastarismlg isn't that the one with the mineral oven or some shit?
I'm not gunna lie. i fell into that "kid who was super into dinosaurs" catagory. Had thisa game at home (along with the explore the solar system one) And Did seek out photographing all the dinosaurs AND collecting all the dino cards. Watching you review this has flung TONS of memories back, and i find myself surprised i can remember so many of the sound effects, character lines, and other random bits that just are permanently engraved in my brain.
"Please let this be a normal nostalgia trip..." "With the Brute? It'll be above average"
Ian your editing and effects in your videos have gotten to be beyond impressive. honestly one of the higher quality shows on RUclips. imo.
loving the new video format and intro! the morph-a-saurus bit still strikes terror in my heart
-DID SOMEONE SAY "DINOS?"-
"Shake that tail, Steggy!"
*O H W O W!*
4:41 "oh woooow" lmfao. you nerd, Ian!! God, i love you. I loved the Invisible Dad episode, especially that line
"I just fought off a serial killer with a lighter, a Dino T-shirt and a can of beer."
*Somewhere off in the distance* "Did someone say Dinos?"
Literally 10/10 you tube content, I honestly think there isn't any better existing content , Brutalmoose is the pinacle.
Magic School bus PC game tier list:
1: Inside the Human Body
2: Explores the Solar System
3: In the Age of Dinosaurs
Where would you put Inside the Earth? (2 years later necro...)
Yay, notification squad!
I want your shirt from this vid.
I played this game A TON at home as a kid, never a classroom, and you hit it right on the head. Loved MSB? Check. Loved Dinos? Check. So this was awesome to me at 4-6 years old.
killer shirt
Was not expecting a Phil of the Future reference. This is why I love your videos.
Am I the obly one who noticed the "Oh wow" part from Invisible Dad?
I laughed way too hard at that!
Hey Ian, do you happen to have a list of the songs that you use throughout your videos? Love the stuff you use at points, especially the bossa nova stuff you have in your intros.
only 90 kids remember
I am not a 90s kid or an early 2000s kid (I was born in the early 2000s) but they'd show this at my daycare and sometimes in class. I assume they still do it
ok ok ok, i could get if you guys were saying maybe 95 or 100 kids remembered but 2000 kids, thats a lot of kids remembering!
CoolMAn Guy THing Only ninety? What tv channel was this on?
I'm 16 years old and my chemistry teacher showed us a Magic School Kids video a few months ago to get out of teaching. They've been showing it to us since I was in elementary. It hasn't gone out of style yet.
+MushroomMan you missed the joke... it isn't only 90's kids remember its only 90 kids remember...
That ending though! Uhh fantastic! Love the editing and nostalgia in these videos, good good times as always!
What's the outro song?
"Meteor meltdown" was my favorite part of this whole game when I was a kid.
Jurassic Park... Early Years
Oh my gawd! Back in the dark times before I was allowed to have consoles in the home (very dark times), Meteor Meltdown was MY JAM! I got so dang far. I remember getting tons of those slates that gave you dino information too.
just in time haha
I got this nostalgia rush when Carlos said Meteor Meltdown, I totally remember playing that, as well as the one where you defended the dino eggs from predators and that weird dino combiner at the end. xD
why is arnold always like...bleach blonde in these games? wasnt he a redhead?
No
This is a childhood game of mine! This review brought me immense Nostalgia. Thank you Ian!
I love your videos ian but would actually love to see less kid game reviews.. bad milk was a good one and the other obscurities like island peryl.
I'm definitely in need of something obscure or weird to cover, I agree! I've been searching around and I think I might have something for you in an upcoming video.
eee thank you for adressing this! Looking forward to it.
Another idea would be to have a patreon event on runescape. I remember joining your livestream one day and would love if you'd make an osrs runescape account for your backers to join into a runescape adventure with you maybe monthly?
I remember playing this as a child. the sound effects still stick out in my mind.
I remember playing "Meteor Meltdown". That was my jam when I was little!
That thing that Phoebe said that you couldn't hear was "Looks more like an ostrich who forgot to put her feathers on this morning!"
*_BA DUM WHAT_*
Thank you for the nostalgia, Ian.
Great video, I like the extra work that went into the ending!
I grew up with this game and this one was by far my favorite of the Magic School Bus games. I loved the food collecting mini game.
0:56 That scene scared the orange juice out of me when I was little
Since i don't think i'll hear it again.... i'll do it myself.
I'VE NOT SEEN SUCH BRAVERY.
I remember playing this one and the underwater one; I probably still have them somewhere. I used to love them!
I love how this was uploaded today. Was just at a local con and saw a Ms. Frizzle cosplayer with a Keesha cosplayer.
I had this one and the ocean one. Loved them both! Thanks for doing a video on it!
This video reminds me of your earlier work too, like Lego island
I remember playing this game during my school year. Yes, there wasn't much to do in it, but I remember the good times I had with it. Also, you forgot to mention the board game mini-game which featured a dinosaur host. I don't know if it was in this game or another version, but that's what I remember most from playing this.
Someone else mentioned this dino board game minigame, and it's a real shame I didn't come across it because it sounds like a lot of fun!
Man, even the audio crackling is nostalgic. :)
GAH. He used the clip from the TV show where Arnold pulls of his helmet in space. That was an EXTREMELY traumatic image that gave me nightmares as a child. WHY did you have to choose THAT clip, Ian? I'd almost forgotten about it...
The dinosaur bone mini game makes me feel so much nostalgia!
This is the most nostalgia I have ever nostalgia’d 😭😭😭 bless you brutal moose!!!
I was one of those kids who had Magic School Bus games at home. I think I spent the most time with Rainforest and Inside the Earth, but I also owned Age of Dinosaurs, Inside the Human Body, and Solar System. I was also pretty hardcore into Magic School Bus though.
That ending... that's some Cronenberg level shit right there
