Dan, I bought a pair of these for my son for Christmas because of a previous review you had done about Dryft Waders. So far he absolutely loves them. Thanks for promoting quality gear.
Thanks Matt! I appreciate the testimonial, good stuff!
Dan , not sure if I was paying attention. I was too busy looking at the background behind you. Epic. What a beautiful place.
It was quite the backdrop for sure :))
Nice to see someone posting proper reviews!
Thanks!
I have the wading pants that look like jeans. No crazy swooshing sound walking around and I walked through the sage bushes of Yellowstone for two seasons. And I look like a badass in town too! Love them
Love that!
If you want to find the best waders ask Fishing Guides. Longevity is a good idea but how often does the person wear them. A weekend warrior is nothing compared to a Fishing Guide when it comes to longevity of a wader. I can relate to 1K for a pair though. I have always bought Simms products, but they don't let me down. I would get dry rot before they died. I have had a pair for 10+ years. I might try these next time. Drift looks well made. Although Simms claims USA made the Materials are from outside the USA, my guess is China because Drift says plainly the material they use is from China. My guess is it's the same production plant Simms uses
Well yea but Simms didn't endorse him to pump their stuff but looks like Dryft has
For the record :))- I reached out to DRYFT myself, I had friends recommend them after I tore my Simms. Both are great waders - DRYFT is just about 40% less because they are consumer direct. (Same quality)
Got their combo pants and waders, not the zip ones, about three months ago. Absolutely recommend them. Everywhere I fish is covered in blackberry bushes and poison oak. They are so solid and comfortable. Easy to layer up beneath and still allow for movement and flexibility. Anyone reading these comments, in the market for new waders, believe Dan and check them out. Two thumbs up and 5 stars. You’ll also be supporting the “little guy” instead of a corporation.
Great review and personal testimonial - much appreciated. Love mine too!
How much do you have to layer up? I live near Lake Erie. I used frogg togg neoprene waders now. i only wear thin pants with them. up top i still wear undershirt, shirt, sweatshirt and i put my carhartt jacket over the wader but keep open to access the pockets inside. I stay warm especially when i get moving.
@@JB-tz9pi I don't have to layer up any more than when I also used to wear neoprene. These are three season waders (spring, fall, winter) and do very well with insulating you out in the cold while being far more comfortable. You can argue that their breathability keeps you warmer because you don't become clammy with sweat while wearing them.
I’ll run two pairs of wool socks, second pair to tuck in the pants so sliding into the waders is easier. I’ll usually wear a pair of Orvis fleece lined pants, thermal shirt, long sleeve, a light jacket and a rain coat if it’s raining. Lowest temps might hit high 30’s at most so it’s not cold here, but I’m thin and get cold easily and I’m totally comfortable. There is still room to add another layer if needed and I can confidently say they still wouldn’t be restrictive. Hopping logs and boulders is really easy. I also wear a vest so I don’t use the built in pockets, but if you connect tippet holder, clippers and snips to either D ring a box of flies and a phone would fit really comfortably inside.
Thanks! I love to hear real world experiences. I'll be getting these soon enough. @@SeaHorseTeeth
I have the Dryft SEEKR waders. Easily convert down to "pants" and they are just look awesome. Like denim! And if you make some basic measurements then call them, they'll make sure you get the right size. Great waders!
Thank you Dave for the great testimonial - much appreciated!
Switched to Dryft a few years ago. Best waders out there and customer service is awesome! Have two sets along with their jacket
Awesome - thanks for the testimonial and great review. Cheers!
I've had my dryft waders for 5 years and have litterly done everything I can to rip them. I've walked over log jams walked through buck brush and they have never failed me.
That is awesome, thank you for sharing that!
Those Clips being opposite are not for hanging. This is so that on warmer days you can clip the suspenders together like a belt and roll them down. The elastic in the suspenders will keep the roll from unraveling.
Awesome! Another utility use, good stuff!
I been wanting to get a pair but it's still expensive. I did however buy a Sun Wizard UPF Hoodie on sale the other day and used flyfishdan code which put a free winter neck sleeve in my cart. So that's cool!
What boots pair well with the waders? I've only ever had bootfoot waders.
Very nice! Thank you for supporting DRYFT! Love stuff for free :)). I’ve always been partial to Korkers - you can find them here: alnk.to/5F6UL4K
@flyfishdan Are the S14 Adrenaline waders by drift as durable? Do they have a good warranty/repair or replace program?
Yes! They have one of the best satisfaction guaranteed/service warranties out there today.
Love my ladies waders and jacket! Nice to have ladies waders with actual fishing features including durability
Great testimonial - thank you for that!
Thank you for all your reviews on them (and the discount code). Ordering the waders for hubby right now, and the pants for both of us, right now. Yay for tax return season 🤣 the pants will be great for spring at Omak!
My pleasure! Agreed - pants are great for that lake for sure. And yes - hurray for refunds! :))
Holy shit you’re 6 foot 7?? Ay if I ever see you on the river you can have my fishing spot haha
I’m a kind giant - I won’t low hole you :))
FFD, 'dem famn dancy zippy waders were always out of what I wanted to spend. Still rocking my legacy Simms and my only complaint is the color faded, which doesn't affect their performance. Wish Dryft would send me a nice pair to beat up; would even put out an inferior-quality review in return. I'll give these a look when my current pair starts leaking left and right; hopefully not for years. ☮ from the land of blown out rivers.
Sounds like you have gotten a great life out of those waders! Rivers are blown out here too!
I have a pair of froggtoggs that will not give up the ghost. The same day they do, I am all over a pair of these.
I've got a pair of old Froggtoggs I used for many years myself before making the permanent switch to DRYFT.
Thanks for sharing. I’ve been looking for a good pair of waders for a while. Not to many brands make waders for 6’10 guys. definitely going to order them. Fish on
Agreed! Nice to have long legged waders for sure for us tall guys! Be sure to use my link - save you a little money and you'll get a free buff. Thank you for supporting DRYFT!
@@FlyFishDan Will do. I try to help out the local shops as much as I can.
Same here as well as the family-owned independents (like DRYFT). btw...I thought I was tall!
@@FlyFishDan I do want to thank you for getting me back into flying fishing.
6 foot 7! Jesus. Never would have guessed.
That's usually the reaction when people see me in person :))
I know that lake… say camo backwards…
I will forgive you for almost spot burning if you buy a pair of waders ;))
Almost… still most people will never know! When I am in the market you got me. For now, comments and like. 😅
