Thank you, your pruning presentation is the simplest to follow. Now I can tackle my.monter too.
I so enjoyed your video....pruning the monster 😂 I have one at our new home and will not be afraid now of pruning it🙋♀️
Yay! Congratulations on acquiring a forsythia with your new home 🏡! Glad to hear my video helps 😍
I have some Forsythia out front growing straight upward (8' tall), and while they're good for privacy, they look very strange. Gonna use some of these tips mixed with general pruning advice to get them growing outward. I like the way you explained everything, awesome attitude!
Sounds like a worthy challenge! I’d love to hear how it turns out. It’s already time for me to wage battle against my forsythia again 😅
Nice pruning😁🌼🌼🇬🇧
Thank you! It’s almost time for the forsythia to bloom again 😍. I’ll be sure to post an update video.
I ordered 3 off eBay.. I’m going to line them up on my drive and then let it grow crazy and wild, and prune it into a rectangle:D
YAS! That will be quite the Spring Show!
Ok. You totally butchered it. 😁 After blooming, you’re supposed to cut out the oldest stems and leave the new. No major trimming after that as you’re removing all the buds for next year. It bloomed beautifully when you didn’t prune it. You’re right, though. It won’t die and you can try again or better yet, leave it alone. 👍🏻
It’s all part of the learning adventure, right? Keep in mind I did this well within the growing season, so the bush had time to put out new growth before fall. That said, stay tuned and if you’re right I’ll be the first to admit it!
@@growingrealart Right! You should see my garden center graveyard. 😁
I missed posting an update last year, but check out how the shrub is blooming this year! I did a much lighter pruning this past fall, now that the canes left are young and healthy This forsythia shrub is in full bloom for spring!
