Hello Anna I'm a non- native teacher of English and I have just started my TEFL Can you guide me how to start looking for a job abroad as a full time teacher of English ?
Thank you for this video! I made the decision that I want to teach English to foreign students and thought I would need to go back to school in order to do so (I graduated with an AA only). But I am happy to know that there are opportunities available without a Bachelor's degree.
I'm willing to do a Celta course next year. I can't wait to have that type of experience (teaching people from other countries). I'm already an English teacher in my city but I want to become so good as I could teach in the UK (this is my dream) 😅
Hello I am full time government employee I have been looking for a good way to supplement my income and have always wanted to teach English. I have, in fact, attained a TEFL qualification to do so. Your video has inspired me to use this as suggests I can work it around my shift patterns. I would love you advice on how to get started further if you have time. Thank you for the video!
Thanks for the video, really insightful. Does preply do all lesson plans for you? And if you didn't want to use preply, does TEFL give you lesson plans or tell you how to make them? Thanks!
Really informative video. I signed up to the app lingbe to practice speaking urdu fluently but the app has a lot of people looking to improve their english speaking, so I also signed up to be an english teacher. It was very interesting and I'm thinking about one day giving english lessons like this
@@pandabossanna Through a local FB group, word of mouth and through a site offering tutoring that isn't running anymore. I ended up with regular work from a family that were travelling but wanted their kids to receive UK curriculum.
Hi, Anna. Did you use Lesson Plans on Preply when teaching English conversation? I'd like to teach conversation too, and I'd prefer not to use Lesson Plans. is this possible?
@@pandabossanna Thank you, Anna. This is just the kind of thing I've wanted to do. Maybe something like a Word Document page, with me and the student conversing, while I write down any corrections whilst explaining. Does this sound like the kind of thing?
I don't do that personally, I just converse with them using the conversation starters and speaking practice, and I write down any new words on the chat with the student :) and I correct them at the end of what they are saying
I think UK min wage is £10 something per hour :) but I also have to bear in mind I'm teaching mostly people based in Poland where £12 per hour is a bit higher than a standard fee for this sort of lesson - but it's also a good wage when I'm living there
Hello, Anna. I'm about to apply to Preply as a tutor. Like yourself, I specialise in conversational English. Is it correct that Preply already have conversational English lesson plans ready for a new tutor? I just wanted to check this with you. Thanks.
Thanks a lot for this video. One question though is how long does Preply take to approve your profile? I've been waiting since 3 weeks and it still says that my application is under review. I'm kinda losing hope :-/ I want to do this as a Full time job but right now the chances of making it seem dim. Any guidance is much appreciated!
I am not able to understand their language, if by mistake they ask me any question, I will ask my neighbour, friend what is she saying, please translate it and tell me
Hello Anna, Great video, as always! You mention in the video that you got a certificate in teaching English, where and how do I get one of those? How long does it take to qualify for it?
Thank you for a great video. I'm about to purchase that same course. Just wondering if most students want classes after business hours? Or is there a good mix of both?
I had mostly outside of business hours personally, but that was my "set" availability so I imagine you can get other hours too, especially if they are based in places like China!
In your last roundup of side hustles you said you'd only made £154 out of teaching. If you can make £15 an hour why was that so low. Surely for someone with your ability this is easy money if everything you've told us is true ?
@@pandabossanna no you cant. It’s $10.20 an hour (17 cents a minute) no matter how much or how long you teach. So during priority hours if you don’t get such (which you definitely will, there are so many students), you make $2.50 for those 15 minutes. I lasted less than a week on Cambly. It is so not worth it. You have to work all day long, to make any kind of decent living, and talking to so many different people (more than 20 a day sometimes) is incredibly exhausting.

Hi I just wanted to ask how do u plan lessons for each students when teaching online? Am confused on that
Anyone?
Depends where you teach, on Preply they have lesson plans you just need to decide which ones
Hey. ❤How was your weekend ?
Great thanks! How was yours?
@@pandabossanna It was good thanks
I couldn’t find you on Preply …Please get me link
I’m not accepting new students
If you are teaching all day and you let all lessons overrun by ten mins though it could prove problematic.
But thank you for this informative video.
Oh yeah no 100%, and I do try keep most of them to time :)

Because I didn’t teach many hours that month, plus I said $15 not £15 :)
Cambly is $10 an hour, so not worth if.
Is it?! Do you not set your own rate on Cambly? That's mad if that's the case!

How much is the hourly rate?
You set your own rates :) mine is $15ph but that's quite low
