- Very unexpected experience, was just looking around for a possible video subject and this security guy appears giving orders. Followed by a mad man, then a KAREN , then of course - the Police.
Apologies for the wind - was in the middle of a storm, I now have media mod for Go Pro meaning no more wind noise.

Once again there are always Police available for private Business, Funny That. meanwhile Burglary, Robbery, Violent crime they have no one to send. Best you can expect is hours on 101 only to speak to a grumpy operator that will give you a crime number and also inform you WE won't be investigating your crime.
They were a bit lame, too, in not telling Karen he was within his rights to film from a public space, but could have been worse I guess

They've highlighted that the police will turn up for a company on "code blue" top priority for a what is basically a "polite" disagreement about recording the building. But all that said, would it it not be a sensible course of action that when dialling for the police and giving a reason for calling them they were told there and then that if in a public space one can see it then it is not an offence to film it? It would save a huge waste of tax payers money!!

It's extraordinary, but people who work for corporations become corporatist, thinking is discouraged, policy is all. (I know I was one of them for far too long).
It's one of the aspects of auditing videos that always really amuses me. Especially the big ego managers and directors who think they are important and special. They often talk and act in an unbelievably condescending way, heavily imply how much smarter they are. Yet so, so many of them cannot figure out that *they* are the content of the video.
You would think the penny would drop when the photographer says they do these videos all the time, surely that is the sign that he knows it's lawful
22:30 Julie admits that she's recording for the owners of the building. Her employer. Therefore she is caught by GDPR. So she cannot share it without anyone in the company except the data controller. As for evidence, it's evidence of herself messing up big style. Unfortunately for her, the data controller will not be able to delete it since it is evidence as will need to be kept just in case DJE makes a civil claim against the company. Also, unfortunately, DJE has his own evidence too. Everything she's said will be used against her.

Yes it was bring up cinemas and inside private property "place of public entertainment" it also took you to the Hong Kong section of photography laws in Wikipedia. That's an interesting take on the algorithm, someones working hard there for misinformation and propaganda.
It is not illegal to film on private property without permission, but it is illegal to remain when trespassed from it.
Photography on private property is their policy, applies to those who have accepted it. It is not illegal without a law.
Civil proceeding can be taken if a person is filmed without consent, and privacy laws exist to protect a person where they can expect privacy.
You can't expect privacy where anyone can walk past and see it.

Hopefully the police will tell them that you were legally within your rights to film the building whether on public or private, the difference being that you have to leave the private property if requested. Education is what is needed in the industry as most are totally out of their depth.
