I think it sucked that Pink arrived during an awful period in music, if you just find her live performances and some of her awesome covers, her voice is amazing. I think for a long time she was stuck in a sort of " pop- hip hop- commercial top 40 " genre, maybe I was older but I sure did NOT get it. NOW, anytime I get to see her perform, it is a special event. She has to be in my top few female vocals.
So true. The labels and "experts" didn't even know what to do with her talent...that voice. They tried to fit her in with the Britney world which was the thing then...performers. No way. Her voice teacher said on film that even Pink doesn't know what her voice is capable of. I'm so glad she figured out how to walk her own path...like she said "screw it" and I think we get the benefit of it. She is on my top ten list of female vocal talents, Along with others like Alison Krause. Thank you Pink.
