You need to take an empty canister and a new, unused canister and weigh them both. Then you'll be able to figure out exactly how much gas is in each of your canisters by weight. It takes the guess work out of it and you'll never overfill a canister.
Yup! Been using one for a couple years now. They do NOT seem to work with the Coleman canisters though. Just FYI. Once I consolidated all my partially filled canisters, I now just buy the large (~16oz) size and top off my smaller ones after each trip. I always leave home with filled canisters that way.
Agreed! Game changer! See you in a couple days brother!
I sure like it! 👍
Very cool! Looks like a great addition to backpacking! Keep making memories & adventure on! ~Karen & Shannon WOY
Thank you, and don’t worry Opie & I have several trips planned. 👍
Hi!! This is Kayleen from Applebees! Nice video!! Can’t wait to check out more
Hey, I just uploaded the video of this weekend. Thanks again for the great service.
Looks cool. You could warm the top can in hot water to increase its pressure too.
Hey John,
Yep, I forgot to mention that.
Hope to see you at the Hang.
thats pretty neat to be able to refill, awesome
I was glad to find out about the valve.
By the way, I’ve been watching your channel. You sir have a great rig!
Thanks for Watching!
Kind of the mini setup for the 1lb propane tanks.. pretty cool
Hey Tony,
I’m sure someone makes one!
@@TrailMedic911 They do.. Video coming soon... lol.
I believe you refridgerate the input cannister and put it on top, so liquid condenses and drips into the cannister you are trying to fill.
I believe you lower the temp / pressure of the canister that you are filling. That way it pushes fuel into it from the higher pressured canister.
But remember…. Safety First!!!!
Cold empty on bottom. Full tank upside down on top to allow liquid fuel to flow into lower tank.
Yep, I use big bottle propane to fill green bottles, but haven’t done this for cooking stove bottles. Thanks for info. Now get back outside where you belong! Lol
Hey Stoney,
Hope to see you at the Meetup!!!!
Keep in mind to never fill these cannisters with pure propane. It will rupture it due to the higher preassure. And if you want to refill the 1 pound propane tanks, get a refillable one. The stress of repeated preassure chance can lead to metal fatique, which can dause the bottle to rupture, so just get the right bottle for refilling.
Combining the small canisters ist mostly fine, if you keep the gasmix the same and dpn't do it to often with the same cannister.
Good info, ty
It works well and saves throwing away canisters with too little fuel to take on the trail. 👍
“Wasting” not “waisting”
Thank you!
epic!
I sure like and use it. It saves throwing away canisters with too little fuel to take on the trail. 👍
Put this on this and l refill this with this like this.. such command of the English language.
Thank you and glad it was on a level you could understand!!!!
What happens if overfilled?
Safety First!!!!!
You have to watch your weights so as to NOT overfill. 👍
