    Great pod episode guys! You always bring great info to our beloved Giants. I’m hoping for a good or watchable 2024 season but reality is, as long as DJ is our QB, we will never be good team

      We were a good team in 2022, my friend. That's not a great team, but we were undeniably a good team. If Jones stays healthy, you'll be whistling a different tune.

    Schoen got the job in early 2022 and had to draft in 2022 with the existing Gettleman infrastructure and players analysts….
    After the 2022 draft Schoen made big changes to that group.
    The 2023 and this 2024 is the real measuring stick for Schoen….

    I’m not concerned about our QB room, I’m terrified! If DJ goes down, flush the season. Even with DJ, a winning season is very questionable! Our coaches need to figure this out, year 3 of Daboll and Schoen needs to produce!

    I think there could be 5 or 6 new names on the roster by later in the week. 6th position in the wavier claims will be beneficial. Great job guys.

    I’m so down on this team. I like Schoen but it seems like he can’t draft 😢 this team will never be good because the front office cannot extract any value from the draft.

    Can’t believe Cloyd at linebacker would not make the team…16 tackles against the jets and can play special teams

      Because it's against backups that won't make the team like him. They can try and stash him on the practice squad.

    Note: All the bad picks: Neal( I'm out on Neal at tackle), Ezuedu, and Flott, you referred to, was from Shoen's FIRST year. That was before he had his staff and system in place. This will be a critical year. My biggest fear is at cornerback. If we had a veteran CB one, I think Banks would do great as CB TWO. Insisting that he'd be a shutdown CB ONE is a stretch. A wing and a prayer. Jones will surprise you this year. I've been watching this team since the 80s. And I know football. So, 👀. There was a big time overreaction, to his preseason game this year. We'll see.

    Neal gets stood up too often and then his feet freeze to stay balanced. Then he can't move laterally, or worse, he topples.

    As much as I wanted to delude myself, Joe Schoen has not done a good job. What premium pick has worked out? I don't think Kayvon Thibodeau will amount to any more than a serviceable edge. Neal isn't a starting tackle. The cornerback is not a premium player. Malik may skew the but rate bc he potentially may be that good. This year...oh, well. I heard Peart may be doing well... Is that possible?

    Hi Nick and Dan, I am a huge fan. I have been a Giants fan since the 1961 season. A long time. Here are my concerns for the season. I am very concerned about the teams ability to stop the run. Which means I would live to have another Defensive Tackle and Inside Linebacker. I would love a starter next to Dex, and a starter next to Okereke. I wish McFadden and Nunez-Roches were our first depth. That gives you an idea where I see things, ideally. I also am more concerned about cornerback. I wish that Deonte Banks was our number 2 corner in an ideal world. I am not knocking Banks, McFadden, or Nacho. I am just being honest about what I wish. I am okay with the slot corner depth and okay with the safety depth, not thrilled, but okay with it. I want Belton as the number 3, andI am huge on Alex Johnson, if he is the kud from UCLA that I am thinking of. I think Johnson will replace Belton in time. This season rests on Daniel Jones for certain. There are two things I see. I do not know the terminology, but he takes too long to process, and when the pressure is on, whether that be coverage or the pass rush. He panics. No better word I can think of. That combination is fatal. I am hoping the combination of the reciever upgrade and the offensive line upgrade is enough to start to change the fatal flaw,, which is panicking. The poor processing could be worked around if he had the calmness of mind to make good decisions when things get intense, pass rush or coverage, or both. You must have a plan, a go to place. After all thus time it's unreal he doesn't, it's not a good sign. But as a fan I am hopeful. Praying for a light to come on.

      I absolutely agree with the run defense part. Another thing I'm personally worried about, is the fact that the Giants improved pass rush (basically the strength of the D) won't get many chances because teams will run and/or have so big of a lead that they can just dink and dunk or run it all the time

    If his Anchor sucks and is too easily pushed back wouldn’t putting him at guard also not work? He’s going to be consistently in the QBs lap

    • @bigbluebanter1108
      @bigbluebanter1108  Месяц назад +1

      Theoretically, yes, but the struggles with his anchor seem amplified when he's kicking out in space on an angle. He doesn't usually get stood up by a 4T who is nose-to-nose; it's usually when a WIDE defender has momentum and he's uncertain on his path, but I could be wrong.

  • @slipknottin
    @slipknottin Месяц назад

    I don’t see anyway someone as tall as Neal who has balance issues and can’t anchor is going to work any better at guard.

    9 out of the 18 players drafted in 2022/23 are proving not to worth their draft capital. This staff cant draft plain and simple.

  • @SandBox830

    Evan Neal is injury prone and frankly he will surely get injured again once it counts... sure as the sun rises. McKethan, Ezuedu, Neal, and JMS ...all Schoen picks. One has already been cut, 2 can't stay on the field, and Ezuedu is not a tackle and might not even be a Giant for long. Schoen has a very bad track record to date for drafting OL. In fact if Thomas ever gets hurts...its over. They are one injury away from another OL disater. I see a 5-6 win team. The defense can't save them.
