So glad you are back! Reviews stink. I’ve had 13 people agree to do it! Gave them all a free book. Only one reviewed it. Everyone else has the book sitting there on the shelf. Friends aren’t the best for reviews. They support in word alone. But at least they cross post my videos and book ads.
Thank you for the time you put into making these videos. I like them short and sweet. I do miss the words that would magically appear next to your head with key points.
Noted! I'll make the magic happen more often ... sometimes those words have typos in them and I don't notice when I'm reviewing and then when it's live suddenly the typo is so big and in my face .... ARGH!! But yes, we can do it!

Hope you get some great results!! Good luck. If you want more tips to get reviews and just book marketing in general, you can download the audiobook version of my new book, Self-Promote and Succeed. It's free here: www.selfpromoteandsucceed.com/audio All the best
Great advice. I just published my photography book. Since it's a niche category, which book reviewing site do you recommend? It appears from your video, Book Sirens and BookSprout are not a good idea.
We don't do anything with photography books so I really don't know what to suggest. I'm trying to think if I know someone to recommend you reach out to as well but off the top of my head I'm not sure. You may want to try photography bloggers and instagrammers who post a lot of photos like what are in your book. Influencer outreach might be your best bet here.

I've never run campaigns for my books, mostly because I feel as though they'd be destined to fail if I can't actively put time into promoting them, but maybe I'll try one of these services out in the winter:)

I work for a book publisher and we are a vendor at Amazon. Looking to get more reviews for our books in the fields of strength and conditioning, fitness, yoga, running, sport nutrition, etc. -- Tried Goodreads for a couple of years but found that even though people requested to "win" the free books, they didn't take the time to review them. Any other book publishers out there with any advice?!

both booksirens and booksprout have free plans if you just want to review others' books. Suggestion "How to get FREE books with booksirens and book sprouts!" It's basically the same theme/topic, but will get a lot more views because ppl r greedy n want all free things.

I want to give away my kids activity books to people in my town. I can announce this through our community FB page. But how do I do this through Amazon? I’d like these to be verified purchases so I can get reviews. Is there a way to reduce the price on Amazon to free or a very low price (perhaps just above the KDP printing costs). Also to limit who and how many people get this offer?
Not that I know of (where you can do both). You can lower the price but not limit it. I think the only way to lower it and limit it would be to publish through D2D and use their Smashwords platform but I think that is just e-books.
I don't think there's any way to do this consistent with being in Kindle Unlimited (KU). Maybe I am wrong somehow? I can't imagine a way to make this work with a KU book. Or am I wrong?
You can't use paid sites for amazon reviews, that would be a ToS violation, no? Though you can for goodreads and google books. Though, I don't take pay to write reviews or even trade reviews.

Ugh that is tough - you're not alone but that doesn't make it any tougher. Keep going!!

I like them, too.
Wow. I’m leaning towards the Book Sirens option. Definitely sounds like a great opportunity. ❤
Pretty sure we do Book Sirens for you ... check with Nicole, she's the boss of that. :)
Good stuff, thanks! No experience with Book Sirens, so off to check it out.
Reporting back: they accepted three of my books. I'll give it a try with one and report back.
Thanks so much!! I agree, book reviews are key!

I'm a book review novice, but I'm always open to learn Thanks for the breakdown.🙂

@@BookLaunchers I know! I'm such a contradiction 😉 Thank you!
I tried both of these. I paid a lot of money. I got a grand total of 2 reviews.
How much did you spend?
Great information. As a mental health book, we might find a lot of readers on those sites that could find the information useful. We will do both.

Do either of these services do better for a MG fiction book?
Thanks! And where these reviews will be displayed - customers verified reviews or editorial reviews?
They usually just show up as customer reviews - not verified.

Have you tried running the print book giveaways? We are finding substantially better results from the print ones.
Thanks again for your advice.

at least on reddit there's this thing "fakespot" which checks out your book's reviews. i'm unsure whether these services would "trigger" fakespot.
I wanted to use Book Siren but since my book was published two years ago they didn't accept it. Kinda wack
This was a great video!

I'm not sure it would work ...
Over at pubby, we have a specific kindle unlimited review option, so the reader downloads your book via their KU subscription :)

Maybe not so fun if they give you lots of negative reviews and you paid for it, haha.
