why put brass swarfe into the hot and cold pipe work to clog ballvalve orfices, when you only had to cut and sweat out fittings and replace, awkward i know but thats why they employ plumbers.
It's not soft copper, it was bent type l and propress can be used on type k. I've seen it done several times, I've never done it but have personally seen it done
The rare moments when you wish you owned a 1/2" copper pipe bender.
Hey another difficult job made to look easy to you and your buddy Carlos! 👍🏼
Service plumbing at its finest 👍 good work man
You dudes can repair anything.
Great work! Tough space.
another save by Carlos, thxs for sharing...
Man that some old cool plumbing
I can tell your in a warm climate. All our water main valves (Chicago) are indoors so they don’t freeze. 😊
Southern California, yes sir
Great job 💯💯💯💯. No leaky leaks.
Carlos rocks! 👉🏼
good work
I would add unions on each side of the hot and cold water lines, then install ball valves for each line !
why unions?
@@pershingplumbing9007 to make it easier to repair in the future
Nice work in a tough spot… is it worth it to try and repair the old gate valves? Prob easier and faster to put in a better ball valve I’m guessing?
I wouldn't even try to repair those honestly
I would have pulled the toilet as much as I don’t want to 😮
Bruh I had the same thought going thru my head but I like to make things harder for myself
Unscrew packing nut whole stem comes out then unscrew it.

Also how to tell whether to repair a gate valve or to replace it?😊
It won't open or close the water off
Weird having the main shutoff outside, easy for anyone to mess with.
Wow hotshot , where are the towels to soak up the water ??? Mold is a dangerous thing .
its concrete pal and we vaccumed it after we were done
Propress on soft copper…… some people’s children…..

Transition to Pex or push on connectors.
use 2 45s
Didn't have any but would have used a 45 and st 45 would have made the cold work probably
Should at least catch the dripping water in a tray.
It's concrete pal, not gonna hurt anything and the space was very tight
