    Just viewed your video, Joe. Thank you so much for making this information available. When I take my machine in for maintenance I can speak knowledgeably. It also helps so that when I use the my machine I can understand how it works. I also appreciate knowing the rationale for always vacuuming instead of using compressed air.
    So while you make these videos for technicians those of us who sew with them really appreciate all of the information.

    Thank you for this. This has happened to my Bernina Activa a couple of times over the years.

    Thanks Joe. You do an excellent job explaining exactly what to do, and what NOT to do. I don't have the guts to open my machine. I'd just bring it in and let the experts work on it and get it tuned up while it was in the shop. What new model Bernina would be comparable to the 630? I love my 630.

      Linda Bee It's one of those "don't try this at home" type of things. But the person who I made the video for was able to do the carrying handle repair. And you do hear a lot about not using compressed air to clean out the bobbin area and this explains why you might not want to do that as the lint can build up inside the back cover and really has no place to go.
      Thanks for your kind words and for watching!
      Bill

    Do you have a video for fixing the knee lift? After servicing, my 640 knee lift only works periodically and I keep having to push the knee lift bar back into the hole.

    I have a Bernina just like the photo and when I changed the belt I couldn't synchronize the gears, is there any brand or any way to know how it works? thank you so much

      When changing the belt, the top and bottom shaft need to be pinned in place so they do not move. Any slight movement of either shaft will throw the mechanical timing off. What usually happens when the timing is out of adjustment is that your needle will crash into the bobbin case and break thought it could be off by a slight amount and then the machine wont be able to produce a stitch. I have a video for the 180 or 200 model machine where I talk about setting the timing.I got out of working on and selling Berninas back around 2019 so all I have left are some of the 180 models. It really is going to be almost impossible for you to get your machine back in time without the pinning tools and knowing what you are doing. Most likely you will need to take it to a dealer to get it re-timed.

      Hi, Sorry but I don’t have much experience with that model. After over 18 years of reconditioning , repairing and selling Berninas on eBay , I gave it up about 3 years ago.
      Between having to pay mor for the machines I got in and eBay’s ever increasing selling fees, when it got to the point where eBay was making more on a sale than I was, I gave it up. Also was very disappointed in the Bernina product after the release of the 820 and 830. No longer the Swiss made machines like they once were. They did make a bunch of improvements on the 770 models, but I think I only sold one or two of those. Thanks for watching my videos 👍

    Do you have a video on bobbin winder repair?

    • @JoeKind1958
      @JoeKind1958  6 лет назад

      tlyocom Sorry but I do not have a video on bobbin winder repair. The bobbin winder assembly is really rather simple. If you have the mechanical ability to replace that assembly then you should be able to figure it out.
      I don’t want to get too deep into showing people how to attempt to repair their own machines. Simply stated, some people get in over their heads when attempting a repair themselves. I do get into showing things like what I do when I service the machine or problems that I have found in the past, things you should know about. These videos are to inform not to instruct on attempting your own repair. But then again some people don’t have a dealer or even a sewing machine repair facility in their area and really have no choice but to try and attempt to repair themselves.
      Thanks for watching and your kind comment.
