The more I fly the F15e the closer it becomes my favorite aircraft. Equal with the F14B right about now. Good vid, should be out there flying.
Very informative video. Thanks for making this series. Can't wait to get my hands on the 15E.
Absolutely fantastic video series. You have brought me a long way on the F-15E.
I agree! Casmo is one of the top 3 Tutorial creator on YT :D
Very helpful. Thought I'd learn this before air-to-ground. So far it's looking like A/G is more complicated than A/A in terms of cockpit manipulations.
As an old navy rotor head 90 to 96, everything was analog for me. Jumped into DCS a little over 2 months ago. Chose the f-18. It seems to be the most complicated as in a full fidelity military aircraft. But for those that have been in it since the beginning, it's second nature of course. My comment is the dash and the DDIs or DMIs with UFC. Also, the AP very very similar to the f-18 including your inputs now this isn't the legacy C model. Not speaking of the super hornet. Love the video! I really love Navy aircrafts but the EX f15 that is a truck full of AA missiles. Or very well can be. I hope to be very lethal and wicked inside that. F-18 and I know my time will come as much as I try to learn something every day. Retaining that information. I keep a logbook of myself. Thank you for the video. Deeply appreciated. I feel that if I get the f-15 EX. The learning curve may not be as long as it could have been. Ty! Awesome video!
You can't get f-15EX because we don't have it in the game, We have a normal f15E, not EX.
@@stingerrgb2754 misspoke just the E model. Referred as the strike eagle. 🇺🇸💪
Its great to do this while watching the video at the same time. The best way to learn!
I noticed the altitude hold linked to the radar altimeter will help hold you on the deck over small rises. It’s not remotely TFR, but it’s a nice aide when coupled to autonav. Safe distance with it I’ve observed is 50-100 ft
Nice. Haven’t tried that yet.
@@CasmoTV i noticed it by accident. I’m just letting the F15 cruise and I noticed I was bobbing up and down. Didn’t even remember I had set the altitude hold to radar instead of baro.
thanks for tutorial i use this method for refueling mainly because I'm a lazy pilot. 😊
Loving this series
Hi from Shanghai…. Keep the videos coming while we wait. 😀
I'm so glad it is coming soon. I'm waiting for this plane since I started 2 years ago
Now we need the F-4E and the Eurofighter, so we can cover all time periods
Add the Tornado to that list…… some good modules coming in the future. 😊
@@JD-xh3ex Exactly, I forgot this big bird :) and many others
Lucky. A lot of us have been waiting since it was announced 12 years ago. Okay, almost 12 years ago.
@@AvengerBB1 Don't bring back those sad thoughts. I'm still waiting for a 2000-5F mk2 and a Rafale F2.
Interesting coming from someone who flies a lot of a10 this is looking super handy.
Great vid and training Casmo, I'm getting betting and better in the SE.
So looking forward to this module!! 0.0
so!! if I catch it right.. the first line on that thing beneath the HUD, is A/P annunciator > IAS mode / LNAV mode / VNAV mode.. so I expect this 💎 can bring me safe to the ground, and land in IFR prevailing condition ❕️😮 right🤞🏼
There's one thing I noticed regarding the ALT HOLD, which is that, if I'm interpreting correctly, you can switch the reference point between barometric (BARO) and radar (RDR) altitude pressing the square button on the left. In normal conditions, the latter may make for a bumpier ride, but I figure it's probably really useful for automatically maintaining really low level, essentially tree top flight.
Be careful with TFR though, in rugged terrain especially. The radar actually looks ahead of the acft at an angle, and if you are flying really low alt in TFR, and you come to a cliff edge or steep drop off, the radar will think you are too high and try to correct, slamming you into the ground at high speed. The reaction time/angle is not enough to correct for an upcoming cliff face either, and you can go right into it. Plan your route carefully! When I was in the USAF, we lost a number of F-111's (yeah, I'm old) due to this. IIRC at the time I was there, for our base, it was the #1 cause of fatalities.
Another day, another content creator uploads a strike eagle tutorial. No worries, only two more weeks to go.
And I have DAYSSS of this. So buckle up.
thanks casmo love the videos
12:16 Hey Grandma, what big bombs you have!
I'm consuming strike eagle content like an adict
Cool video, I don't know if I will be picking up this module though. DCS is really lacking in the single player department.
There is a mod you can grab that lets you do your own singleplayer campaign, you can control units, launch attacks, buy new units, deploy them etc... and take control of one of the many jets in the war it's like a very simple version of what BMS has.
@@cadet3902 - sounds interesting… what’s the MOD called?
@@JD-xh3exDcs liberation. Dynamic campaign
@@user-em1wb4qg3k - thanks.
Hi Casmo, for select alt, you're supposed to set what climb/descent angle you want also. Kinda like the M-2000C, you should get into the desired climb/descent path, then engage select alt, and at that point you use throttle to adjust climb angle to keep the speed you were at when engaged
Good to know. Thanks for the clarification. I don’t fly the mirage so I don’t have anything to compare it to.
Honestly, outside of baro hold for CAS stacks, I rarely use autopilot. But good info though
We need an HMD like the A10CII.
It would be nice but I think there is something to be said for the challenge of doing it old school.
Does the aircraft automatically holds the altitude when you activate the A/P? When I do that nothing changes
☕️ good morning Mr. Casmo! What kind of functionality issues are you seeing that would prevent early access release for the public at this time?
Small little bugs that are being polished out. It's in a good state but still getting the kinks worked on.
That "You have to turn it off and on again" thing with changing altitude setting seems a little strange.
May be a bug. May be something I’m missing. End of the day it’s not game breaking for me.
Not sure if I just missed it or what, but how do you go about navigating to a specific steer point? Say I want to skip SP 2 and go to 3?
I have that video coming soon.
@@CasmoTV Awesome! I was getting confused why my TPOD would track a specific steer point, but my aircraft would just head towards a heading with the same number.
I guess going into the 737 draws you to the fast movers in DCS now? Lol, all good, going through Initial for the Beechjet now. See you at 450!
I mean, helicopters get kinda boring after a while. I’ve already done all that. 🤷🏻♂️
Compared to the Viper, it seems a little more awkward but manageable. Hopefully RAZBAM releases this soon so I can start practicing with these videos.

👍👍👍👍
hey Casmo, big fan here, i have always the problem having HDG as well on in the first row of the UFC meaning:
A/P HDG ALT why the hdg is always there, i have tried all reading the manual watching other guides but the HDG persists to be always between the A/P and the ALT ...any ideas why, what am i doing wrong, cheers man
I’m not near my pc but as I recall that’s just a selection you can make
it may "practically fly itself"
but.. I'm a red blooded American
no computers gonna fly my jet
that's MY job
*laughs in airline pilot*
Casmo being really honest . Comparing this aircraft (F15E) with the HB F14 .
Is this aircraft near that level of detail and handling ?
Does it feels that realistic as the F14 ?
Damn. I am used to the F-16C where all you got is one switch to throw for altitude and a choice of heading/steerpoint with the other switch. Simple. This is one sketchy set of sequences just to get a hold. But, like all modules, it too shall become second nature with continued usage. I also just got the A-10C II module. Bad decision. It's the most complex aircraft by a long shot to grasp. It makes the Hornet seem like Trying to bounce between the two is nightmarish. Coolie switches, castle switches long, short, aft, right, auto acquisition aft short, boat switch fwd, paddle switch, finger lift...lol
Great serise, but literary CAZ, you have a copy of the F15E, but no body else 😂
It like the F15E is a steal fighter.....
Yep. And you will be ready to fly it cause I did all the hard work for you early.
@@CasmoTVlol, guenius, a-men to that.
release f15 now
Another video for a module that is not yet released. I don't get the point in this. Firing up the expectations of the hype train shenanigans? This release cycle and methodology for new (broken) EA modules is just bonkers. Ridiculous.
It’s why I love RUclips so much! You actually DON’T have to watch the stuff on it! It’s brilliant!
Free advertisement? Is this your first time with any DCS pre-order early access content? Would you rather not have information to use when it releases
The curse of having a RUclips channel- every negative Nancy gets a voice in the comments section.
@@CasmoTV oh yeah. "I'm going to dislike your video because you have it and I don't!"
