not sure if same tech applies to F15 but for whati was known, to share some insight, TGP area track is not locking up the picture based on contrast. It actually locks the the coordinates the TGP is looking at. That is mainly reason why in F16 if you turn off target the TGP does not drift away from the last point you looked at when you re aquire visual. in POINT track your reasoning of contrast locking is correct as this is the method to follow a moving target, but allows for drifting when masking the pod. Razbam is releasing the F-15E features in stages called CTUs (Chronological Tech Upgrades), which mirror the typical configuration of a Mudhen's capabilities at around a certain time. Base Mudhen will resemble a 2005 configuration with the Lantirn pod, CTU 1 will be circa 2010 with LITENING II and digital UFC, and CTU 2 will be circa 2015 the JHMCS and Sniper. Razbam will need to wait for the Sniper pod anyway. But I suspect we'll see the Sniper integrated into the F-16 before we see CTU 2 release for the Mudhen.

Just got the strike eagel and loving it more then my f18 hornet. I fly these birds. F14 tomcat ,f16 viper,a10 c 2, f18 c hornet, appache ah 64 d, av8b harrier, war birds p47 thunderbolt and p51 d mustang. . Dcs fanatic here. But now the f15,f14 are my main to birds. Need a naval and air force jet both t9 be my main birds. The appachee ah 64 d is the other module i fly alot for a change. Great video for teaching us strike eagel newbie
The strike eagle will be my 2nd jet to learn after the A10. I bought the 15e but I think I'm gonna stick to my A10 a bit longer and give the devs more time to finish things. Not having a HMCS is gonna be a tiny learning curve for me.

bit of a nitpick but when you pointed to the tdc on the throttle, you actually pointed to the coolie hat switch, the tdc is a it inlayed so its hard to see but its just left of the coolie.
I really hope that as the update this thing you will be able to select the older versions. Most of our modern modules are from the mid to late 2000's. I do hope that like the A-10C is still available that this early version will remain available as the upgrades come in.
There's not going to be 2 versions of the plane that I'm aware of. The newer stuff they are going to implement like datalink and sniper pod will all be optional from the F-15-E so you can choose a loadout from say circa. 2004 or a loadout from 2015.
Very random question, but being an Apache guy who’s very familiar with CAS, what’s your opinion on SOCOMS new at-802U skywarden, a prop to provide CAS for ODA or seal teams operating in austere areas, it’s very similar to an Apache in terms of capabilities, armament, and speed, I know it’s random haha

Literally the most necessary piece of equipment for the module and they have no tutorial for it. In fact, there are no “combat” tutorials at all. Just how to use the radar, the screens, and navigate..
Just a (probably stupid question) are you supposed to leave the pod stowed for take-off and landing to prevent damage in real life or is that not a problem with the F15?
Are all the functions you mentioned in the beginning also have a HOTAS commands ? Or am I gonna be disappointed like the Hornet and rely on MFD presses ? I saw you press the MFD for point track and that caught my attention.

I was imagining coolie hat down to be the one that selects the ampcd as SOI. Imagine my disappointment…

I keep forgetting this is an older pod and frustrated it doesn't look as clear or as good of zoom as the Lightening pod on the Viper or Hog

when i do TDC press in the back seat, it switches tracking mode to point track for some reason. still havent been able to designate one target yet
WSO controls are totally different. To designate a target use trigger 2nd detent on either LHC or RHC

It should be stowed for takeoff and landing. For the sim though, I don't think it matters.

The WSO can run the pod with very little need for MFD buttons. The pilot, less so.
