Do You Need to Ferment Tomato Seeds?

Can you use tomato seeds quickly and easily without fermenting them for days? We'll test gathering tomato seeds from our grow tent floor and planting them directly in rock wool cubes. We will later on plant the cuttings in our hydropoic system, but you can of course also plant them in soil.
