My maternal Papa had Parkinson’s disease, and we have had several loved ones with Alzheimer’s in my family. Both diseases are ruthless- hard on victims and caregivers alike. So, my deepest sympathy and sincerest prayers for you, your mom and family.
@@BeginnersMind-ArtMind May her precious soul rest in love. Lost my mom 20 yrs ago to dementia from a stroke. It was almost 10 very very hard years. Peace be with you
I love the white area (about minute 32). This makes me think of mine and my husband's many journeys through old cemeteries.. I'm weird that way. I love going through an old cemetery visiting graves of people l don't know, discussing what their lives might have been like.
Those ARE wonderful and I AM going to play and learn today. I didn't know that a painting that really looked more like a discernable picture but actually not was considered abstract.....that tree one is mind blowing awesome!! Thanks much for sharing this.
I'm just starting out with painting and really want to attempt abstract but though I have done some playing, wasn't sure that watercolour would be ideal medium for it. You have shown me that it can indeed, I absolutely love your abstract landscape and how it developed. I also love your very human approach, thoughts for your Mother.
Another great video Linda! I enjoyed the abstract watercolor paintings. Prayers for your Mom. ❤ Also prayers for my sister. Found out Tuesday she does have lung cancer. Never smoked a day in her life. We will find out the stage in over a week or so. Pet scan Thursday. Results back on May 20. 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you, but she has progressive Parkinson’s and dementia on top of her broken pelvis. It is likely that she will have to go into a rehabilitation facility.
Even just "playing around" you created some amazing pieces. Speaks to your incredible talent. And the squeaky chair keeps it real! I'm a newbie to your channel, but I really appreciate the authenticity and honesty you share.
I accidentally ran across your video and it inspired me because I work like this and now I feel as though I have permission! Who knows? I may even make a video!
I'm back from my other device so I can like this video twice! Time to go play now with watercolors! Also, much love and many prayers for your mum... I feel for her being scared, I watched my mom go through the same thing. It's hard to be the strong one for them when they need us so much to be their rock to lean on. I can't tell you how many tears I cried in private through our journey together until the end. Hardest thing I've ever done in my life. Our parents deserve so much more than we can give them, but our love is enough...
The final piece that looks like a wooded fall thicket is my favorite! The bubble to the far left looks like a head. Maybe someone sitting down. Hallow maybe ghostly or an imprint of energy from someone there in the past. Anyway, I love love love this piece!!!
It’s seems like a lot of fun painting these abstracts. It might actually be a good way to try out new paints, rather than - or in addition to - normal swatching.
6:00 OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU JUST SAID THAT LOL I WAS JUST WATCHING THINKING I SHOULD LEAVE A COMMENT SAYING SHE SOUNDS LIKE SHE WOULD BE GOOD AT CALLING A BINGO NUMBERS!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I’m so bad, I bought so much watercolor and it sits more than being used. My last purchase was the Schmincke Tundra set and those tubes haven’t been opened! I’ve been so busy painting with acrylic that my watercolor sits…thanks for inspiring me to at least swatch my new watercolors!
Thanks, I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. Yes I did go over what brand it was, but you might want to rewatch the part of the video where I explain the difference between the Marie’s and the Marie’s Masters. You definitely don’t want the Marie’s. I also mentioned in the video that the link to these watercolors as well as the 15% coupon code is in the video description below the video. There is an expiration date on the coupon code and I think it expires on either the 15th or the 17th of this month. Thanks for watching!
Marie’s Masters. I always put the link below the video for the products I’m using in the video so the link to these watercolor is in the video description area below the video. I talk about it in the video, but it’s really important that you don’t confuse these with Marie’s watercolors, which are not good. The Marie’s Masters are the artist quality ones that I show in this video and they are much higher and quality.
Hi Linda…your videos on working with and thru fatigue have helped me so much. Thank you. I have a question about yellow. Recently I swatched a set of watercolors from Schminke. There are nine colors and one of them is Turner’s yellow which is, in my opinion, stunning. However some of the mixes are disappointing. I recently heard or read somewhere that not all yellows are good for mixing. I wonder if you or your followers would have opinions about this and could recommend yellows that would be more suitable? Thank you.
I’m so glad that you have enjoyed the videos. Thanks so much for letting me know! I use colors like hansa yellow, azo yellow, cad yellow, lemon yellow, gamboge. Cad yellows can be heavy handed in mixes. It’ll be interesting to see what others have to say because I am not that picky about my pigments and a lot of my color mixing is very intuitive
@@BeginnersMind-ArtMind Yellow is not my favorite color- at least in the past it hasn’t been. Recently I’ve been warming up to it. I wonder what that means - metaphysically, spiritually or otherwise. I have gamboge and lemon yellow I think. I’ll dig them out to try. Thanks for your thoughts.
Aloha Linda. Just found your You Tube channel. Love everything I've viewed! You are talented and very informative. Also, you have a lovely spirit. I've been binge watching and have a question. Trying to find out your favorite gouche paints in pans. Couldn't find any in your "favorites " in amazon. Thank you in advance!💕💕🌺🙋♀️
I’m so glad you’re enjoying the videos, that makes my day! I have never used a premade dry gouache palette. Instead I make my own dried gouache pans/ palettes using a combination of Senex Gouache, Holbein and M.Graham. I have a couple of videos on my channel showing how I set up my dry gouache palettes and prevent excessive cracking and falling out by using some blending medium from Windsor and Newton. There is always a coupon code for the Art Toolkit palettes that I use and for Senex Gouache below my current videos. I hope that helps!
When the binder separates from the paint and rises to the top of the tube. When that happens, and you squeeze the tube, the liquid comes out before the thicker pigment.
Thank you so very much for asking! My mom passed away unexpectedly, and my health has been rocky. I’m still posting videos to Patreon but needed to take a short break from RUclips. Thanks again for checking in. 🙏💕
Hi Mihich, Drawing can be really easy if you just break your subject down into value shapes. Look at your subject and focus first on the biggest shapes and get them down. Then it’s much easier to measure against what you already have down and fill-in the smaller elements of your drawing. A really good book to start with if you want to learn to draw is, “Drawing from the right side of your brain“. I hope this helps. Have a great day!
Blessings to you and yours. Keep spreading joy and beauty wherever you go! The expressive arts are so healing for chronic illness and emotional distress.
You should definitely try it! It’s a completely different experience, where you’re led by your imagination with no goal in mind, so you’re just free to explore. It’s fun to see what you come up with!

When the binder separates from the pigment and comes out of the tube as a clearish amber fluid before the pigment comes out.
