Today I'm experimenting with a slightly new colour combination: alizarin crimson, sepia, indigo and Payne's grey. I show you how I work in my studio to try out new colours together, just playing with paint, and seeing how they work together. I paint wet in wet, then add some ordinary table salt to the damp wash before letting it dry.
Easily one of your best tutorials-from the textures you demonstrate to your words of encouragement. So well explained. Thanks.
Many thanks!👍🎨
When i watch you paint , in that kind of style, i feel like a went on a vacation for a day or two. So calming and beautifull . Thanks
My pleasure 😊

Encore un merveilleux paysage d’hiver avec des couleurs qui pourtant nous réchauffent 😀😀👏
I absolutely love these colors together! The Alizarin crimson really warms everything up. I struggle with card swipes but I painted this today and your excellent instructions got me great results! I check everyday to see what’s next. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent!

This is just the look I’ve been (mentally) searching for. I see winter birch trees and bushes in love the purpley look the myriad of tiny twigs and branches give from a distance but never really had a clue how to start. Thank you ❤
Beautiful, Lois! Thanks for the inspiration.

Que preciosidad!
Thanks for the lovely video. I can't wait to try this. You didn't show what order you put the paint on your card, or does it matter?
Thanks, just put the paint onto the card any way you like!
@@LoisDavidsonArt ok I will try it.
@@LoisDavidsonArt this is great tutorial, thank you… .. I’ve not used water colours before (only acrylics) what colours have you used with the alizarin crimson and what water paints would you suggest? Thank you for any advice 😊
@@janetpowell2274 I list the other colours in the commentary at the beginning, and use any colours that appeal to you, experiment and discover what you like 🎨

Is there a right time to apply salt for best effect, Lois?
Yes, when the paint is damp, if it is too wet the salt will dissolve and make a bit of a mess, if too dry, there will be no effect
Has anyone played around with any other unconventional tools in your painting experiments? I'm looking for inspiration.
Wath is the effect of the salt on a double laser of the color. Tank you
I don’t know, but if you experiment you will find out for yourself
Can I ask what colours you used. Can you give me narration as you go along. Be so helpful. Beautiful painting
Hi, the colours are listed in the narration at the beginning, and no, I can’t give you a narration as I go along, everything is explained at the beginning 😄
is there a reference photo or out of your imagination
