    Do you organize your studying in your calendar like I do?

      yes, and unfortunately, I put it off in the beginning of the semester, and then my schedule gets like a pile of different things I have to do/study/turn-in/go, by end of october and through thanks giving, and then boy am I happy when reading week comes around. it doesn't feel so difficult after doing it a couple of times.

    I took Kaplan as well and passed the Feb 2018 Georgia bar on my 1st try. I agree that it doesn’t matter which course as long as you put the work in.

    in general, i always take the crash course stuff for anything i do - it's just super helpful cuz the content is usually developed from people who've taken the exams before and know what info should be prioritized

    Your a very intelligent gal Brittany,.you'd make a great teacher in so many ways, and grades..your straight forward, and someday you'll make a great Mother, these days it's probably not a good idea to bring children into this corrupted world, most parts anyway since we don't know what's coming..and not forget it helps if you have a good income if you don't have parents to help like I do..been w/o since childhood, sadly..makes it difficult to keep up with any education..God bless dear, keep up with the great tutorials..

    Hi em! Great video! I love Pho! Especially in a bar 🍸 where I don't have to study! The soup 🍲 goes well with anything at my local bar 🍸 😋 👌 🙌 Who's watching with me in 2024? Have you failed a bar exam? The one that the cops administer with some breathalizer?

    Do you mind listing books and other resources you used to study for law school and the bar exam? I love the schedule you posted, very helpful.

    • @BrittanyTran
      @BrittanyTran  5 лет назад

      for the bar exam I only used the Kaplan books that came with the program and then whatever materials came with the supplemental bar program through my law school. for law school itself it really depends on the class! some classes they recommend you use certain study guides. otherwise I didn't really use external resources.

    Hi! How did you manage to study Professional Responsibility? It really seems like a bunch of random ABA and CA rules that just need to be memorized (as opposed to Evidence or even Property that have a logical framework and reasoning behind the rules). Thanks in advance!

    • @BrittanyTran
      @BrittanyTran  4 года назад +2

      yes, it was difficult. I agree it's mostly memorizing but also knowing the basic framework so that you can answer the tough questions that are really more nuanced or judgement calls. I would suggest doing a lot of practice questions so you can get an idea of the types of questions you'll get and the expected answers since they tend to repeat patterns or themselves a lot.

    Hi Brittany I’m a international student from the United Kingdom and I would like your advise on something please.I’m planning to do my undergraduate degree in the uk in law I wanted to know if you think what I’m doing is a smart choice and what do you think is the right decision.I want to go to a university that teaches law and American legal studies (with a chance of having an internship in the US)and there’s another university that’s in partnership with my local institution that I’m going to and my teachers think it’s best for me to go there for i can get scholarships(every single book included no extra charge .)which is a very rare thing that is offered to UK students and after I’ve completed my undergraduate degree I would like to do LLM or JD accelerated degree to be a certified lawyer in the states permanently academically & financially which qualification is the best options the LLM or JD.

    • @BrittanyTran
      @BrittanyTran  6 лет назад +1

      I think that's fine! I don't think it will hinder your chances of going to an American law school. as long as you study for the LSAT and get a high GPA it should be fine.

    Do you recommend online law schools?

    • @BrittanyTran
      @BrittanyTran  6 лет назад

      good question! I'm not sure because I haven't done much research into them. I think if they offer the same content and help you prepare for the bar exam in the same way then go for it. I think the only downside is if you find yourself being more distracted since you're not in a classroom.

    • @ChristophProbst
      @ChristophProbst 6 лет назад

      Be careful of online law schools and look at the pass rate. You are also limited about what states you can sit for the bar if you go to an online law school. If you choose an online law school, be prepared to self-study and have the discipline to study on your own time.

    This video was helpful! The essay portion of the California Bar has a lot of crossover questions. In other jurisdictions, the essay portion only comprise of one essay topic. I always wonder why the California Bar does this. Each essay should just comprise of one subject. Additionally, the California Bar has a performance test whereas other jurisdictions do not have that. Oh well! Like you said the Cal Bar is by far the hardest in the country. Lastly, a point to keep in mind is that a high MBE score will put you in that passing category. You can get 55's and 60's on the essays and performance test and still pass the Cal Bar.

    Hi, thank you so much for making this video! I just started bar prep for the CA July exam with Barbri. When you first started doing practice essays, would you use your outline and/or notes, or was it closed notes and timed like for the actual exam? I'm finding it hard to simulate exam conditions because I feel like I haven't memorized enough rule statements... thanks for your help!

    • @BrittanyTran
      @BrittanyTran  5 лет назад +1

      In the beginning I would use my notes to write the rule statements and also if I wasn't sure about certain issues to just practice getting the format down for the essays and issue spotting. However, at a certain point you should have everything memorized and should practice the essays without any notes.

      definitely the bar exam. I think I prepared more for the LSAT but also I was able to understand how the bar exam structures their essays and it was more essay heavy, which I am better at.

    Hi, you mentioned previously that you went to Chapman Law and also considered Southwestern, and I was wondering if you applied to any higher-ranked schools?

    • @BrittanyTran
      @BrittanyTran  6 лет назад +1

      I did - but unfortunately, I didn't get into any of them. I applied to UC Hastings, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCI, UC Davis, USC, USD, UOP, USF and Santa Clara. I was also waitlisted (and eventually accepted) at UOP and USF.

    • @maddie5851
      @maddie5851 6 лет назад

      Oh that's interesting, I got into USF but was waitlisted at Southwestern. Right now I'm deciding between USF and a Tier 2 school in Oregon, but I ultimately want to live in California. Do you think its better to attend an unranked school in the area I want to work in or a higher-ranked school out of state?

    • @BrittanyTran
      @BrittanyTran  6 лет назад +7

      since there isn't much difference between an unranked school and a tier 2 school I think it's better to go to the school in California since that is where you make your connections and where you will get the most support when taking the California bar exam.

    • @BrittanyTran

      nope! I'll do a video on it but since I work in house there is an "exception" that allows you to waive into the New York bar and practice law as long as you are bared in one state (for me, California).

      not really, I went into job I got right after law school for 2 half days just to meet the team and learn a little bit about what I'd be doing but it wasn't much and was right before I started studying intensely for those 2 months. it may just be a recurring thing I put in my calendar.

    Is the California bar exam an open book test !? As Ontario bar exams are open book test . And if I clear Ontario bar exams am I eligible to give the bar exam in USA ?

    • @BrittanyTran
      @BrittanyTran  3 года назад +1

      No it's not open book. If you take the Ontario Bar you would still have to take a bar exam in the US if you want to practice in the US since passing the bar exam is a pre-requisite to practicing law in the US. There are some exceptions but for the most part you need to pass the bar exam here.

      How is that ? Can I take California bar exam and practice in Colorado?

    • @BrittanyTran
      @BrittanyTran  6 лет назад

      yes, according to rule 204.1 in Colorado if you are barred in one state then you can transfer to Colorado if you work for a single client (a company). so only if you work for a company/go in house.
