Your advice of "stop taking notes" is very helpful. Guily, Your Honor. It's passive. Oh em gee. You are so correct. Thank you, Henry. I'm from California and Asian, too. I understand your parents and mine, especially. Awesome video, sir. No need to "approach the bench."
Thanks a lot! I learnt so much from this video. Started preparing for the bar and prepared notes for many weeks/months well before July exam this year. Re-read it and all felt new. That "active recall" and "practice testing" were way more efficient in prepping for the exam. Flashcards are indeed useful when memorising things, but that's about it. You just gotta be comfortable with the uncomfortable study/game method. Mostly,"interleaving" is so important - got all 5 questions wrong in real property in my first attempt and got so demoralised. Kept up with it and finally saw the improvement. Thanks so much and wish me luck on July exam...!
Hiya, just wanted to say thank you SO much for uploading this. I definitely agree with not taking copious amount of notes - I'm basically hitting kaplan i.e. 'raw dogging' MBE-style practice questions. For context, did my JD in HK so I have zero familiarity with US law. Would you suggest taking notes based on the MBE explanations though? (and shrinking it down to maybe 6 pages max for each subject - except civ pro haha..)
So if you do not write notes, how do you structure your outlines? Now let’s assume you do not write notes. And you want to understand Hearsay evidence. Do you read the topic and answer questions on it immediately? Or how do you go about reading and answering?
I will generally use some one elses outline or an outline that has already captured the core information. I typically try not to type out copious amounts of notes. Once I’ve gone through the material once, I jump straight into questions and then if there’s anything I don’t know or isn’t in my notes I will add them in.
Spot on, mate, masterful advice; it's exactly how I passed the bar exam.
