- This is the Final part of the Hatsan BT Carnivore 30 cal review (pt 2). In this video, we field test the gun to see its performance on paper and reactive targets. Unfortunately, it was windier than it was supposed to be but this actually gives us a better idea of how the gun/caliber performs in real world conditions.
Such a great review, no other video I have seen has shown it at the length of test in real conditions like you have in this video, really helps to see before purchase
Blew my mind! Never would of thought a air gun could do that. Great review. Thanks
That review was very enjoyable , honest and to the point .
Keep up the good work and keep the reviews coming .
Great informative video! I just purchased a factory refurbished BT-65 in .22. I haven't done anything but adjust the recoil pad and the cheek rest and it shoots fast and accurate. Averaging a little over 1000 fps with plenty of fps in he neighborhood of 42 fpe. Yes it is a little heavy but it slows the movement for a steady shot. Great platform.. Love you videos so keep them coming as your time allows. Learn something from each one!
Your right, its heavy but it does help with steadying the shot. Your comment gives me inspiration to keep making them as informational as possible so someone out there can learn something. THANKS AG BROTHA
real world report, real world results. Great review under tough conditions. Good shooting by the reviewer. Love this gun, especially when it performs this well.
This video came highly recommended. I will definitely
Purchase this make and model for what I need. Dude your awesome. Love the real live actions, the wind, dust and the targets
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this excellently presenters video. I bought one last week and can't wait to shoot it!! You Rock,,,
Have watched a lot of testing on these weapons. I am interested to buy one. What I appreciate is that, while conditions were not perfect, you are what I would call a good marksman...but you still gave us the review using the rigid bench rest...which combined with skill showed what I would see as the most reliable test I have seen on these rifles. You let the rifle show us its true performance combined with your skill..rather than other way round! Kudos Brother. keep up the good work! Be looking for more!
Wow, I must say I'm impressed in what this gun can do.
At first I was hesitating between the BT65sb .22cal and the BT65sb Carnivore .30, but now I'm sure , I'm going for the .30cal ! What a monster for an airgun this is !!!
Sir, I like to thank you for your clear and nice review, it made my choise a lot more easy.
Greetings,
Patrick from the Netherlands .
You make good vids Mr. Ray. Real world tests like this tell us so much more about the gun than people shooting 10 to 30 yards in a garage. It was amazing the wind at 95 yards grabbed all those "flyers" and stacked them on top of each other!
You are now a top information "go to" guy for me. Tell the manufactures I said that. :)
Great review between the two videos. Because of you I did sit down and read my whole user manual before taking the first shot or even charging it. Great advise. The adjustments help make it feel better.
Very impressive gun, especially for the money. And I might add a well done video. Lots of on point information. Thanks for taking the time to make your videos, it ain't always easy, but it's appreciated :)
I also bought this gun "Hatsan BT-65 carnivore" recently. And today, I went wild duck hunting today, and I shot for two mallards by this gun, but I made miss-shots all. So I left behind a worry about the accuracy of this gun. But I have realized that the reason of the misstakes was not by this gun because of this video.
The accuracy of this gun is so nice and your skil of shooting is also so nice. I will again try to harvest wild ducks with this gun with having a confidence. Thank you for your video of the review of this gun.
Good to see you back at it brother. I'll look forward to learning more from you. Steve
Nice video , no fluff all facts thank you. Wish all review videos were like this , just subscribed
Just a great video. Really liked the format. Real world accuracy is whats important and you showed that in this video. Also, the fact that you used an OEM gun is refreshing. I want to know how it will perform out of the box, not after I've spent a boat load of money making it better.
Excellent videos Sir!!! Clear explanations...great pcp rifle & shooting!!! Thank You. I enjoyed part 1 & part 2 of this review. ; )
That is very impressive in those windy conditions with a gun at that price. I've seen it for sale at $560 free shipping. Wow. Great video.
Excellent production and very thorough review. I subbed and liked, you earned it.
Great review Sir!
You are a good marksman. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Thank you. I appreciate the shout outs all the way from the "Netherlands". That's awesome! Appreciate you stopping in...…….
very impressive gun, for the price , good video thank you Sr.
Love your videos! Great job as always!
Nice video. Really shows how accurate this platform is.
Awesome video you just made up my mind on which gun I'll be buying. Like you said those were real World conditions with good results
You're awesome, and so is the Carnivore. Thank you for the review.
Great video man I'm a fan, the video was thorough and to the point,, I watch BWalton video's and I got to say It's good to see more of Us out there into the Sport of Air gunning.
Your a very good shot especially in windy conditions. Enjoyed the video
Wow great shooting ,thanks for the review I have been thinking to get this gun so your video has been very useful ,thanks again and God bless
Always enjoy your vids. They always have the information to make good buy's...............
OMG that is a very accurate weapon. Outstanding marksmanship soldier
Ced .... I just bought this gun .30 carnivore a few weeks back refurbished from hatsan USA .... to my amazement it is a hole threw a hole at 50 yards when I did my part ... great video of the stock gun ...you sold me ! so chalk 1 up bud ! a long with Bwaltons accuracy videos ... { his gun was tuned} ......point of impact on my stock refurbished gun using 44.75g jsb at 50 yards is pin point ! ..and the impact is a lot harder than the .25 bt65... hammer .... so this is the .30 carnivore sledge hammer !
Thanks for the vid Tof! I missed what pellet you were using at 95 on the rabbit target. Fine groups for a pellet at that range in that wind. Very impressive. Knife
Wow... I had been asking about the accuracy of the carnivore vs the. BT 65 . 25 looks like the carnivore holds its own. It looks like the wind was moving your target so that may have had something to do with your larger groups @ 50 yards. Great video and very informative! I think I'm going to purchase one of these. Thanks!
I respect your opinion and that was one of the reasons I purchased a bt65 .30 cal very happy w. It. The only reason I didn’t send it to B.Walton, is he never returned my ATT.44 . I had over 1000 bucks invested into that gun. That was over 5years ago!! If you look into his history you’ll find others upset too. Maybe you can ask him to return my money and rifle. This is harmful to everyone in the sport. Not to mention Hart Breaking. I thinking of putting out a reward and I steal have the serial number. I believe he sent someone else my gun and tried to give me a gun that wasn’t mine. Right after I sent him the serial number made ever excuse he could think of. Now on December 7 I send him a anniversary text telling him thanks for stealing my gun. He finally ran out of excuses. And quit returning my calls.
Hey Joseph....exactly why I never sent any of my hatsans to b walton. He charges way too much for a basic tune anyone can do at home. But his less than ethical business practices are the deal breaker. Good thing I did extensive online research on him. Hope you eventually get some sort of satisfactory resolution.
I appreciate you not playing music over the sound of the rifle.
Nice video, honest conditions, a lot of people shoot and their groupings are not real good and they blame it all on the weather but when you look where they're shooting and beyond there doesn't even look to be a breeze so I like that you pointed out the weather and it was accurate still. nice groupings.
Hi Ced I am back with my over 2 year update from buying my .30 carnivore …. its working fantastic and still tearing a hole out of a dime size circle at 50yds like it has from the day I received it from Hatsan USA … and you cant beat this gun for $500 refurbished price … only thing I have done is adjust hammer spring /adjust trigger /decent scope 890-900fps JSB kings 44.75g.....
first like ! Thanks for sharing your research ..the bt 65 is on my short list . This helps to make an informed decision .
Great video. Impressive how those .30 cal. pellets buck the wind, Impressive gun.
That is very impressive performance ,nice work
After watching the Hatsan Carnivore perform I'm going to have to re-evaluate my position on obtaining a big bore. Accuracy, power and quiet performance are very valuable traits to have in a gun.
SEEING ASTHO I DON'T CHRONY, I LEARNED A LOT ABOUT MY SIDE LEVER BT 65 CARNIVORE 30 CAL BY WATCHING YOUR REVIEWS
THANKS
Thank you for sharing...
That's a Great Video...
Every Air Rifle like its own pallets or slugs..
You just have to find the right combination...
When I do long distance
I find out what my air rifle likes...🎯 🎯
Wow with your review makes me want to buy a BT 65 too!!!
Awesome and fair review. That gun was stacking them. That is some great value for a $750 gun. I would not have a problem recommending it at that price point. well done, another great review.
Air Tanks Plus and other useful stuff like Stikman I got one from midway on sale for 499. I love it.
Sorry about the last reply. I'm new at this.
Nice video my man. Very informative.
GREAT video, I agree with Ali Murad and Kim Shirley. Wish you would do one on the 357 too.
Man the look on your was priceless lol. then again your a top notch shooter.
great video and production. also nice shooting.
Tofazfou, you have some sick air rifle skills! Great job! Very good review. I own 8-10 air rifles but have not made the leap into PCP. After watching your video...I will be taking a closer look at the Hatsan.
Thanks Jeff. I like the Hatsans. This is my 1st tester but i have more on the way. Like their Gladius BullPup. So don't make a purchase just yet....lol! And keep looking at future Hatsans.
Tofazfou Sounds Good. Thanks for the reply.
Jeffro Bodene your welcomed
@@alianarosas8402 THank you AR
That wind was kicking pretty good , great shooting
Best review on RUclips!
I absolutely love my Bt 65 , 30 cal . Im shooting the Vortex 48.60 grain pellets . Its hole in hole accurate at a 100 yards .
Good review! Very informative.
Great work my friend. I am just getting into Air Rifles. Have a squirrel issue and need to put some in the freezer LOL.
That 30 cal is nice, just think it is too much for my needs. I will definitely go Hatsan , just deciding the model.
Appreciate your video!
Semper Fi
Impressive. I’m now reconsidering my want of the FX Impact. I’m not a competitive shooter, but I always like to buy the best (within reason). This was a fantastic video. Well done Sir.
good video Ced.. having the FX Boss i can tell you that mine is a dime smasher, yes it tuned a little for what i do. This Hatsan BT65 is a great rifle for the price range, hands down and even better when tuned. For a big box company they produce some good rifles once in a while and this one of them..
can I ask one more question...what do you think as far as pumping up my riffles..do you think I'll have a safety issue with moisture affecting the cylinder?...when should I check em inside or replace them? I have my bt65 and tactical sniper from evanix and a texan 45
Great job. All those were good shots
Good honest review thank you
Awesome video man . Im gonna get one
Hey brother, I've been watching a lot of your videos lately. Love them. Anyhow, I wanted to ask you bout this .30cal. would you use this for coyote hunting? Up to 100 yards or less? Body shots or only head shots? I recently got the Invader .25 for coyote hunting but it's only shooting 31 grain at like 670sh fps and 20grain about 760sh. Not even close to what advertised. 870 on the box. 900 fps online. I should have stuck with .30 cal for sure. So I wanted your input on the .30 Hatsan Carnivore. Thank you
Excellent video,,, you are the man,,, Thank you,, I will buy this one and it is on sale now for $400 at Hatsan
Hi Mr. 2F4U, i did a little mod. on my Carnivore QE 30cal,.. i removed the whole QE section and placed a 6061 alu tube of 20mils by 2mils thick over the barrel, the 1/2unfx20 is directly topped of with a DonnyFL Shogun 30cal.. Great shot improvement..and super quiet.. worked for my 35cal Carnivore aswell..this bad boy was topped of with a 1/2unfx20 to 18x1mils adapter for the Emperor ..also a DonnyFL.. super quiet now... just want to let you know.
Regards,
Morris
I have the 22 caliber version and love it. I am definitely getting a 30 caliber version. My only complaints with mine is the weight (it does come with a strap though) and the bolt can be a little slick, especially if you recently oiled the action.
Awesome - thanks for the review
Excellent for stock out of the box outstanding
Very good review.
Good job Ced
Great video as always! I am looking to purchase a Hatsan BT??and would like your opinion on the caliber. I am impressed by the .30 cal but have concern with the limited pellet selection however, I would be ok if I can reach out and smack a rabbit with the .25 caliber out to 100 yards. What are your thoughts on these and additionally, what are your thoughts on the .357? I am basically hunting rabbit and squirrel. Based on the accuracy of your .30 review, I wouldn't second guess a 50 yard shot or less on a medium sized game with a properly setup rifle.
The rifle seems plenty accurate....having worked with the 30 calls some, how do you feel they stack up to the 25' s in hunting situation? I'm considering a 30, but I am ,first and foremost,a hunter. My Airforce Conder will give me 950 with a 50 grn hp, and 1050 with 36 grn Eunjins...do you think I would gain much in the way of performance on coyotes and such , going to a 30 cal?
you know while I was watching the video I was thinking to myself I wonder how those high powered air rifles hold up under the extreme pressures overtime. do you find that they need more maintenance than the less powerful air guns?
my appreciated greeting and respect for you brother thanks for the arken scope
Great review..nice gun
sweet gun! I can't believe how accurate it is at the extended ranges,..........john
THanks John. To be honest, pellets are really affected by winds and i know for a fact that the groups at extended ranges would shrink. I was extremely windy that day. And the breeze was left and right of my shooting line.
Tofazfou man: I use those pellets in my .30 Hatsan break barrel, and I am telling you, flair 21 pellets as I described below, and do this accuracy/crony test against 21 stock pellets @ 100 yards. If that shoots anything like my gun, you will find about 10% more energy, less fps variance, tighter groups and no flyers. It even fixes small dents at the skirt end, (that cause flyers in my gun).
Because my breech has a pretty good size champher on the load edge, the flared skirt fits perfectly in it, and flush to the breech face. I don't know how well they would fit in your magazine and breech though, but I know it is worth checking out.

amaizing video .. thaanks
thanks Ali
well done man
Love how you killed the ear at 95yds. LOL!
Enjoyed your vid even though I'm not interested on this particular gun! Great job 👍🏽
Good review! Straight forward and no bla bla bla
Hi
What is your shooting background
I thought you shot real good
I was commenting to myself about the wind and the shots being grouped.
Man, you're just having a good time with the Carnivore :) Great review for an awesome airgun. I plan on linking your video on my site because I got so many questions how the carnivore is shooting so accurately out to 100yds. If you don't mind?:)
Absoloutely no problemo with me. I can help answer any questions i can
The questions SG is, "is that group repeatable time after time?" Airguns are grossley affected by winds so 1 superb groups is a good showing but its not the end all. I often find that i can get a great group then just slight bigger time after time. But where i live, its super windy and that makes all the difference
good review ced.
I just bought the BT65 35 caliber for deer hunting. What pellet do you think would be best
Fantastic shooting man!
Jesus, this guy can shoot, and with that cross wind.?
Superb marksmanship!
Very good shot string, nice valve!!
Nice video dude.
thanks Engrtobe
What pellets were you nailing the rabbit target at @ 96 yds?
Beautiful country and Beautimos shooting.
Question, I received my Hatsan 135 .30 caliber rifle and I shot over 200 pellets I also have a new scope. For some reason or another all pellets are going left even when I use the optic sighting. Out of 210 shots there were only 5 pellets that hit the center target. What do I need to do differently to get that accuracy on point?
Use artillery hold. Practice, lots of practice. Then sell that. Mod 135 and get the BT 65 pcp. Only 2900 psi in a 255 cc air tank. Piece of cake with manual hand pump. Way more fps, fpe, accuracy.
another great video my friend.
great vídeo!!!
I only seen the gun take ground squirrels...now the benjiman rough, marauder,& the bulldog..I've seen take deer, hogs, coyote,& in south Africa the bulldog was amazing...even the gamo break barrel taking out hogs & there coyote 22 cal taking out hogs etc.....
thanks you for the review that was a great review I actually have that gun no modifications. I actually just bag 120 pound wild hog Florida in Florida about 50 yards and I agree with you great hunting rifle.
You have a video on it? I'm from Florida ..Jacksonville.& that's what I want this gun 4...I like that fx boss 30 cal...that $$$$ make you think twice lol..
no
I don't have a video on the hog kill but I do have a video coming up with my speed and velocity that am getting out of my 30. cal my Gun is stock I adjusted the hammer spring and I'm getting between 87 to 90 foot pounds depending on what grain pellet I'm using.
Good info and so glad you responded with that comment. I know this gun has real potential. Just check out Baxter Waltons Hatsan videos. Thanks for responding. and congrats on the hog kill
Awesome review. Thinking of starting with Break Barrel Carnivore 135 QE. What are your thoughts?
The 135 is a fun air gun to play with. But it requires artillery hold to get any kind of accuracy. It will also destroy scopes. If you do start with the 135, you will soon learn the limitations of it, and move up to the bt65 pcp anyway. Higher initial cost to go the bt65 route...but way higher fun factor. Bt65 IS hand pump friendly. I used a Hill mk4....but an air venturi g9 is a less expensive option. Some have even gotten $50 hand pumps from slamazon.
maybe I missed it but what grain pellets are you shooting ?
Truly impressive
Awesome shooting.
