Well the comics were going a full decade plus when the TV show came along. I will say I love this show and Bill and Lou's work.
In The Incredible Hulk (2008), there was a scene in which Bruce Banner, on the run from General Ross for crimes he didn''t commit because he accidentally became the Hulk by a Gamma Radiation overdose, watched an episode of The Courtship of Eddies Father that Bill Bixby starred in.
The Hulk is a true Hero.

he had a guest star role in "The Green Hornet," where he fought "Kato,"( Bruce Lee).
Mako also was the voice behind the villainous Aku in the ground breaking animated series Samurai Jack which aired on the Cartoon Network. R.I.P.
