Bro I reside in Canada and we have a completely free healthcare working or not. However Justin is correct in the USA healthcare costs tons of money. I have a millionaire colleague who lives in Virginia Beach and I remember while back when he was playing golf he hurt his ankle not sure if it's broken or chipped. He did finally and I didn't ask how much it cost but he didn't go in first place because he sensed it would cost couple of thousands of dollars at least and didn't want to pay it.
It is not completely free in Canada. Each province has its own health insurance. If you are working it’s based on your income. I was in a high tax bracket and I paid more for just me than people who made less paid for their whole family. So it’s not ‘completely free’, but it’s very low priced government subsidized coverage. It’s free if you’re retired, or on welfare, or make less than a certain income. But it’s still amazing compared to the US, but not as good as Turkey’s health system.
@@lisabelle7553 which province are you located? I am in Ontario. The only thing is not free that I came across is the medication but most of it's cost still covered by the work insurance.

Healthcare in the US is effectively free for 65 and above (it's called Medicare). For younger people, you need to pay to have healthcare. These monthly premiums can be hundreds of dollars monthly, but if you have them, your open heart surgery will not cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. The insurer will pay most of it. It's still very expensive, but not what you are thinking. You do get very high quality and very quick healthcare for that high cost as well. I still prefer universal healthcare though.

So 18 and under, 65 and above or any working citizen is free healthcare (employer pays for it). And the healthcare is amazing as well with high end care. Most likely it is free for all because when someone works in the family and the employer pays for the healthcare insurance for that worker automatically the whole family is covered under the healthcare insurance. The only citizens will not be covered if all the family members are unemployed. Are there any families like that who all of the family members who doesn't work?
if no one works in a household then someone needs to pay GSS(general health insurance) which also covers the spouse and depandents and its currently around 20 usd a month
One of the very negative things in turkey is that even residents are texed up to 45% on their income from anywhere in the world،even if you don't apply for residency, if you live in turkey more than 6 months, you are considered as a residence for income tax purposes .
idk about other provinces but here in Giresun healthcare's really great, state covers like 95% of the expenses (the remaining 5% is mostly in terms of prescription drugs) and as a rather sickly person I'm forever grateful to the state☺ a few years ago I had a kidney failure (kidney stones) and had to take an ambulance ride to the hospital from home almost daily for a week, we paid nothing for the entire procedure plus emergency services (we're insured by emekli sandığı), I can't imagine how the same situation would have ended up in a country like the US lmao
Wtf I was on holiday in Antalya and had to see a nurse in the hotel and just to have a bit of air( I have asthma) it cost me 100 euro, didn’t even see a doctor and I had medical insurance.
I don't think "Free" is a correct term that should be used in reference to healthcare. Nothing is free in this world, and neither should healthcare be, someone is paying for it. That being said, as a U.S. healthcare professional, I am absolutely shocked at astronomical costs and inefficiencies of U.S. healthcare system. The opposite side of that spectrum is a socialized medicine that never works as it puts bureaucrats in charge of making decisions rather than patients themselves. If Turkish private and state healthcare systems are on par, then it is great news, an indication of free market - something we don't have in the U.S.
The government hospitals are free but, at least in Istanbul they are also literally falling apart. When I had to go once, a piece of the ceiling where I had to wait had broken and was dangling over someone’s head!! They hadn’t even cordoned off that area. The doctors are the best though. If you want to go to a modern facility, you have to go to a private hospital where you have to pay...
Americans don't pay 100k to 150k for heart procedure out of pocket. Health insurance does. If you don't have health insurance you may get financial aid. If you're a foreigner and don't have health insurance they will bill you for the cost. Sure health insurance can get very complex here but it's not bad like that dude said. He was very misleading. What's his motivation? To sell property in Turkey and to make Turkey more attractive. I am all for that but please don't give misinformation about the US. To this day America has the best health care system in the world. I live in Boston, Mass and we have some of the best hospitals in the world.
