Traxxas 4-Tec 2.0 Brushed: Optional Pinion Gear Overview & Install

- On today's episode i wanted to discuss what i discovered about using the optional 25 tooth pinion gear that Traxxas Provides with the Ford GT 4-Tec 2.0 Stock Brushed Setup.
I used two of the exact same batteries for this test. Both being Gens Ace 5000MAH 2s 50c Lipo batteries. On the first run with the stock pinion gear i only hit about 23 MPH. On the second run with the 25 Tooth Pinion gear i only hit 26 MPH but saw a significant increase in acceleration overall.

You should always break in a brushed motor properly. Huge difference in performance!
Not sure why I'm watching this, but good tutorial for people new to the hobby. My 4-tec is running 4s, hobby wing Max10, and a 3350Kv motor. Good video.

Informative vid, Something I saw with G. Gear mesh a bit tight, car seemed to always have brakes. As old school I am, used a pc of regular white paper to verify the mesh, I is a perfect gear mesh. Don’t want it too tight or too loose.

You do such good jobb explaining..i don`t understand what Traxxas mean with those letters if they don`t tell which one to use with what pinon..??...maybe 19 start with first letter and so on..up to 29???
I got home Sunday and searched through 3 hours of footage. Turns out what I thought was going to be the coolest footage, never got recorded lol. Great info on this. So they didn't indicate in the instructions what setting to use with the optional pinion? That seems so confusing.
Belive me it happens more times then not when you got 20 different things going on in your head. lmao and ya i agree took me a wile to figure it out. a little ridiculous if you ask me.

If you put it in race mode I'm sure you can hit over 30mph. I think you may have forgotten to do that.

Motor and batter runs hotter with a bigger pinion.
