Twins have instant torque. Good for a fast daily and weekend cruiser. If you’re trying to get the most power a single is the way to go but twins are way more fun lower rpm.

@@prestonanderson953 makes sense. Anybody can daily a 1000hp if they wanted. Always can be done. But won’t be as comfortable as a day 350-500 hp daily. Sound , drone , fumes, etc. things that matter when you daily something.

Twins will give you a usable power band. The key is proper crankcase ventilation with an external catch can setup; too little or too much vacuum will affect the oil feed/drain to the turbos. Twins are very sensitive to the vacuum due to the position and location on the n54.
In general, the reliability of the n54 is good but maintenance is key, I'm assuming people who think otherwise have never owned a DSM... Best of luck on the build finally got the real German 2jz on the channel👌

I was gonna type a long message about my car and my setup but I realized I sounded stupid naming all my parts lol.
Long story short I’m running Pure 600
Currently tuned with wedge on 91 and waiting on an e mix tune.
Car feels nice but it can be quicker, I’m hoping that the emix tune wakes it up a bit.
My plans for the future is to also go big single with it. I drive my car maybe once or twice a week so not too rushed lol.

if youre on stock rods, the best way to blow ur stock motor is to use hyrbrid turbos. all that torque being made at low rpm is BRUTAL on n54 rods. contrary to popular belief, a properly sized single turbo will move the torque curve to the right and extend the life of your stock motor. It is much safer to make 700whp on a single turbo higher in the rpm than it is to make it at 4500rpm with hybrids as far as stress on rotating assembly is concerned. i have a darton wet sleeved block, n53 head, 12:1 compression, wiseco pistons and rods, big cams running standalone ecu, and i have a bone stock 07 335i with a gen2 6266 top mount kit tuned 600whp and my full blown race car breaks every time i look at it, the stock single turbo car i can daily across the country right now.
