Diamond tetras. I have 9 in a 40b and LOVE my fishies. I have a 24/7 light and they school in the brightest time of the day and it's so pretty/relaxing to watch them. If I ever have space for a larger tank, diamond tetras would be going in there for sure.

I have a school of Diamond Tetras in my tank that have bred for me and continue to grow! Beautiful fish, very lively and peaceful to other inhabitants.

The fish that I liked, and have a problem getting, was one of the first fish my parents put in our 5 Gallon Community tank over 50 years ago, the Kuhli Loach. A very interesting fish for an aquarium, curious, goes around. The other fish in that 5 Gallon was a Corydoras. I have 10 small tanks right at the moment, and have 5 Corydoras. The Diamond Tetra was pretty neat, the color reminded me of a Lemon Tetra, one of the fish I have right now and like. If I had another 5 Gallon Community tank to set-up I would put in 2 Black Skirts, 2 Lemon Tetras, 2 Neon Tetras, 2 Corydoras, total of 10 fish. My Black Skirts have always lasted for over 8 years, have 2 right now older than that, I also have a Giant Danio that is over 8 years old, these fish are not supposed to last that long. I try to do a water change every week or two, and on the older ones I purposely only do a 15% water change in the tank. Do plenty of filtration, I don't use Canister, I use HOB's, Sponge Filter, a Undergravel combined with HOB for one of my 20 Gallon Tanks. To show my age I even have a Marineland Eclipse 2 on my 20 Gallon Tall, with a Sponge Filter, and Corner Filter, (14 Black Convicts), best tip DO NOT GET A COUPLE OF BLACK CONVICTS ON SALE FROM ONE OF THE BIG BOX PET STORES, THEY ARE BREEDERS AND DO NOT DIE ON YOU, AND ARE HARD TO GET RID OF FOR FREE!
Just saw an old vid on plants and have a question that I can't find the answer to. Lace plant seeds and then rots? Had plants sprout out once. There were 90 plus in the tank. I think I thumped the stalk while the seeds were black and tiny. Just turned 64 and not getting younger! Would appreciate any info or useful links. Thanks.

i went into my lfs the other day and has fortune would have it, they had a fish delivery at the same time, i had originally gone in to find mollys or corys to help keep algea under control and i came out with 6 oto's and a gogeous multi-coloured veiltail betta (the betta was an impulse buy)
also came out with two amazon sword cuttings as well, if anyone can tell me how the heck i can keep them in the subtrait without them floating out it would be a help and how long will it take for their roots to come out?

Tugelsi are one of if not the largest upper jaw bichir on pare with ornatipinnis. They are amazing looking. Second favourite after congicus

I’ve kept diamond tetras over the years I love them. Mine actually bred when I wasn’t trying to breed them in a nice planted tank. I still like my Congo tetras more than the diamonds though.

I love tetras! Some of my favorite are the neon/cardinals, the black and the red phantom, the emperor tetra and the diamond tetra! I also love the tiger suckermouth catfish, Cory's and kuhli loaches!

I actually have a group of the butterfly fish and i must say you need a lid when you want to keep em.
Very often in the night i hear them jumping against the lid so if i would not habe one they would have jumped out very quick

I have a question about puffers, how old/ big before you have to start feeding them snails? My baby fahaka and baby spotted puffer wont eat snails just live shrimp, brine shrimp frozen and a few bloodworms.

I was so glad when my work found a box knife with enough safety features we could get rid of those crappy blue safety cutter things. If you receive a perfectly taped package, they work maybe 50% of the time.
