    Man, that dang timing chain cover bolt gave you a hard time but you showed it who was boss!!

    • @seansdriveway
      @seansdriveway  Месяц назад +2

      It sure did! I'm pretty lucky I had a spare timing cover from the 89' engine to replace the one I broke... but hey, lessons learned I suppose :)

      Those old Windsor small blocks always had galvanic corrosion issues on their t-covers & bolts. When I do a chain in one I usually go on and include a new cover and bolts in the estimate. I worked for Ford from the mid80s through 92 and we saw that issue a lot way back then.

      @@prevost8686 Please give me all of your knowledge that you have from back then! So I do have a question for you... Is it possible to take a foxbody 5.0 HO Upper intake plenum and turn it around to fit on my Crown Vic engine? That has been something I would love to do as a nice little "Upgrade" in the future

      @@seansdriveway I’ve never tried the swap you mentioned but even if it would fit the smog heads on your Crown Vic are still going to be the limiting factor. They just can’t move much air. I’ve heard of a lot of guys using the heads off of the V8 Explorers to get better performance at lower cost than what a set of performance heads would cost.

    • @seansdriveway
      @seansdriveway  Месяц назад +1

      @@prevost8686 Yeah you bring up a good point there. These heads are pretty restricting in terms of emissions. And yeah alot of guys do the GT-40 H.O swap and they get some decent power out of these 302s.

      Of course, I hope one day people will appreciate these cars just as much as an old Charger or Mustang. Maybe when that day comes, my videos will help out with that.

      @@seansdrivewayAre you kidding? This is a Panther platform car I hear these being just as relevant as the old Chargers, Mustangs, Chevelles, Camaros, Novas. That being said, you ain't gonna just be able to find a 1980s Panther platform car pop up on marketplace that runs and drives for a decent price like you would a 2000s Buick Century. Lol. Even those are starting to go up in price. Lolol

    Sean you did a hell of a job working on your 89 CV, it reminds me of when I owned my 84 CV over a decade ago. I would definitely like to see the wash and detail of your car because it would shine really nicely with that color of blue in the near future!!!!

    • @seansdriveway
      @seansdriveway  Месяц назад +1

      @@fernandomolina27196 I got mine from EBay, just search for the 1990 Ford LTD Crown Victoria Service manual and look for the red book. I would also encourage getting the emissions volume H manual, and the electrical and vacuum troubleshooting manual. Those three books should be good enough to get you started. But I must let you know that they are pretty pricey, but worth it IMO

      It seemed like it. This engine came straight out of a 91' Merc Grand Marquis & I ran it the way it came out of that car for almost 2 years without doing anything but oil changes. Some of them were pretty ugly which surprises me on how well it ran with what was in it.
