Nice board and really well thought out! Since you opted for an amp section separate from your board, do you carry the amp section board, pedalboard and guitar to church every time? If you leave the amp section board at church, do you keep a set of UA Dream and Ruby at home for practice?
Thanks for checking it out! Yes I have to carry everything if opting for this rig. It certainly is a trade off of convenience but no more than any guitarist that still carry’s around amps. I could always put it on my board if I really want to. I have another mini board that I use when I’m not in the mood to carry it all or don’t require all the function of my main board that is completely self contained. I only have one set of the UA Dream and Ruby so if I leave it somewhere then no I don’t have them to practice. But usually I don’t leave my gear anywhere. I could practice with my mini board if I did leave it. I like having the amps separate though cause I can always keep my base tone and use other pedalboards say for example if I’m working with friends and their boards for effects I may not have. Who knows in the future I may throw them both back on board but for now I’m rolling with a separate section!
Hey Ely! Just curious if the 1981 DRV pairs better with single-coil or humbucker guitars, or does it sound great with any guitar? Outside of the Gretsch, I've seen you play a Duesenberg, Strat, and Telecaster in your other videos. Just curious how the DRV stacks up with each one or if any of those guitars make it stand out over the others?
Part of the reason it’s never left my board is cause it sounds good with both! As you crank up the drive on the 1981 DRV it adds a low end that’s really full. So with single coils I can push the drive more to get a fuller sound. With humbuckers sometimes I have to pull the drive back down so that it doesn’t get too bassy.
Bro loving the set up!! Any chance you may have encountered glitches/delay when switching from drive to drive? E.G: like if you're in a verse and going into a chorus and switch to a heavier drive type of scenario. If so how do/did you work around it? I too run my drives through a ML5, but when i switch drives via midi controller, there is the slightest glitch (noticeable). Hope to hear from you!! God bless and keep up the great work man, it's sick!
Thanks for checking it out! As far as glitches/delay, no I haven’t had any issues like that thankfully! Your question did get me curious so I looked at the manual and it talks about muted switching. It’s possible you may have those settings different but that’s all I think of. Either that or faulty unit. Sorry I couldn’t be more help :( Per manual: The ML5 circuit is designed to keep switching noise to a bare minimum. However, you may have certain devices that are more prone to switching noise, such as devices that use an internal charge pump. The timing of the mutes can be set. Simply hold down Switch C before powering up. Release the switch once the LEARN LED lights up, and it should start blinking. Select between the shortest delay (Switch E) and longest delay (Switch A).
@@ElyVaz_ appreciate you replying back man! This makes so much sense!! Did you leave your settings as factory settings? Or did you mess around with those?
@@raygines4491 I wanna say I did mess with them in the beginning when I first got it cause I wanted it to be as silent as possible when switching and since it works as it should’ve I’ve never messed with the settings again. It’s been a couple years but I believe that’s what I did. If it’s giving you that much trouble I’d recommend playing with settings described in manual. You can always factory reset it if you need to get it back to factory.
@@ElyVaz_ I read through the manual, and it mentioned when you factory reset (as I had done already), every preset is "muted. " So I just unmuted and the preset switching is definitely less noticeable!! Appreciate your help man, love your board, tone, and willingness to help out the community. God bless brotha!!
I am DIGGING(!) your board! Many of the same pedals as me and I'm looking to integrate my PirateMIDI bridge6, just like you've done your morningstar. I have a similar size board with pedals that do the same kinda function as you. I'd say the thing that's different in soundscape is the microcosm and Friedman BE-0D for distortion and metal possibility. I'd be very interested in some help with my board. I'll list my pedals also with singnalchain: Xotic Wah->JHS FUZZ series 3->EHX pitchfork+->Strymon Compardre->Walrus Audio Warhorn/Ages combo->Xotic SL drive-> Friedman BE-OD->JHS Muffaletta->OBNE Reflector V3-> Walrus audio M1->Alexander pedals Rewind->Strymon Timeline->Strymon Big Sky-> Hologram Microcosm I'm thinking about replacing the two JHS fuzzes with the walrus audio eons and finding a smaller reverb than the big sky. Looking to integrate these pedals for the main big pedalboard with midi, and having a Nano+ og metro max size pedalboard for the small and easygoing rig Looking forward for you feedback
It’s finally here! 😭🤟🏾
sorry for the wait 😂
Thanks for uploading! Great tone, so versatile!
Thank you!
Love those USB ports on the side - that is super handy.
100% recommend if reaching the usb ports on the pedals are a tight window!
The cable management 😂
What do you use for the dream and ruby phase issues? Great rundown man enjoyed the video!
I was using a Goodwood Audio Output TX which works great! Recently got a Pinstripe Pedals DISO+ for some more versitility.
Nice board and really well thought out!

Benson is killer. What you think about processor? Like fm9 fractal or quad cortex
