Two days ago (before this was published) I was actually doing a ton of digging trying to find some info on you guys tone at red rocks. Love your sound man. It’s kinda insane how timely this video came out for me HAHA
This is amazing! I miss “pedals” . I’ve used a helix floor at my church for years and always wanted to incorporate pedals but I could never get it sounding nice…but this encourages me to try again…your tone is 👌!
Great video thanks for taking the time to run down this pedal board set up. I have a question on your SP compressor; what are your attack settings on the inside of the pedal? Again, love your music and your tone.
I had a proline and noticed this a touch on mine as well with the different resonance. try lowering the pickup height and see if it cleans up the neck a bit!
they are definitely set at a level that doesn't feel like its too close to the strings or too muddy or fat. I generally set neck a little lower on guitars so when I flip to bridge there is a nice sonic lift without being too thin :)
How do you play with so much reverb and not get drowned out in the mix? When I play at church and I use higher mix “cloud-like” reverbs I get completely drowned out. I use pre-delay and bright reverbs and still get drowned out
having a great core tone is important, as well as paying attention to EQ'ing your verb tone. lots of the low/low mid information doesn't need to be verb'd always. Also, running my wets post amps and IR's allows me to retain clarity and get away with higher mix/decay times. hope that helps!
Awesome tones! You can definitely hear the hard work and dedication to your perfecting your craft. Thanks for sharing! Side note, how did you make or find the labels for your DPC8?
Im kind of curious. Im a keyboardist, but still know lots about electric (now i gotta learn lol), but how come you guys don’t use the RNDI Box? Why use the walrus when you can get that amp sound from the RNDI to help add more of that icing to the stuff you run from tone factor in your HX Stomp?
Hey John. Great walk thru! When you got to the end of your dry path you mentioned that you swap the Super Bolt and the Kilt around...then you demonstrated the tone. Which pedal was that?
Dope!! The patch you sent out had 60% mix levels so I was just curious. Would love to see a walkthrough of your patch and how you get your tone! So unique and killer 🤙🏻🤙🏻
I thought you used the cortex to play but I see that you don't and I say this because I bought it recently and I saw a video of red rocks and I had added another board with a cortex from Cole Xander's board greetings✌️
Im the Guitarist of my church on Italy and man this stuff Is Crazy, a sound very clean and so powerful.
Bless from Palermo Italy
thank you for watching and for the encouragement!!
This is like.....just....too much. My brain can't even process this. It's amazing. The cable organization alone is perfectly done. Just wow. Wow.
thanks man!!!

thanks for watching!! usually I run low mo with volume around 2-3 o'clock and blend around 9-10 o'clock!
insane tone!! i have a veritas pro line with el rayo pups but my neck is so muddy i can barely use it. running hislop helix presets.

@@jbmeding I have tried that before. Do you know roughly where yours are at? Are they set lower?

Man that sounds amazing. Would love to see your Strymon and HX stomp settings. Do you sell them?
Thanks for watching! email me jbmeding@gmail.com and I will get you the info!

thanks for watching! I’m not sure exactly on the labels, the guy who built it used a label maker I believe!
Loved the vid!! What do you use for the actual board? Is it a branded one or which materials?? Looks sick.
It is a Vertex Effexts Tour Elite MKII with vertex riser
Thanks for watching!!
would love to see ur amps settings in stomp! 😁
email me - jbmeding@gmail.com and I can get you some presets
@@jbmeding I'm gonna shoot you an email too!
@@scottvincent2508 just messaged you!
@@jbmeding can i join the party too? 🤣 love the sound, will shoot you an email!
I would love to see a diagram of this pedalboard
What cable are you using out of the HX stomp fx loop to split the signal to left and right?
there is a 1/4” TRS (1) to TS (2) “Y” cable on the FX loop send connecting to Timeline, and two 1/4” TS cables on the FX return out of Bigsky
Great video! - are your Strymon presets available anywhere, by any chance?
email me jbmeding@gmail.com for more info!
Thanks for watching!
What’s your opinion on Canvas VS. DISO+ VS. simply some 1/4” to XLR cables for the HX Stomp?
Haven’t tried the DISO / but the canvas is a great solution. Need balanced, isolated lines and a good ground lift
what irs do you use?
@tonefactor XR IR’s AC30 Blu / green. This rundown was recorded with the older Hislop AC30 IR’s however!

What amps and IRs are you using in the stomp? Would love to get your sounds!
hey man! using ToneFactor XR IR's now. This video was the old Hislop IRs. email me jbmeding@gmail.com for more info!
Hey John! Do you happen to be selling your Strymon presets?
hey johnevan! Just emailed you back!
Thanks John! Just dropped you a reply with some follow-up questions.
TOOONES! How do you run your FX loop mix? 100%? or do you dial it down?
Thanks man!!
100%. mix levels and repeats change depending on song/context on TL / Bigsky
Dope!! The patch you sent out had 60% mix levels so I was just curious. Would love to see a walkthrough of your patch and how you get your tone! So unique and killer 🤙🏻🤙🏻
I’m not religious, but God, what a nice pedal board
