This was made 100% by Mick Gordon, he is an incredible producer. He used super low tuned 7, 8 and 9 string guitars for the guitar riffs. The other sounds are mostly analog and digital synthesizers and also some more exotic instruments like chainsaws and lawnmowers. As far as I know the drums are acoustic but layered with EDM drums which is why they hit so hard.
If you really want to hear brutal, Alex Terrible of the band Slaughter to Prevail released a version of this song with his own vocals added. He roars like a demon himself.
There is a video that explains how mick composed the doom 2016 and eternal soundtracks its very cool. You should definitely react to bfg division, meat hook, The Super Gore Nest and cultist base those are the most well known. Most of the sounds are digital from synths and for example some of the guitar sounding sounds are actually remixed chainsaw and lawnmower in some songs. It's very interesting how these sounds were made. Looking forward to more doom eternal ost reactions!
oh btw, the opening isn't distorted bass AFAIK, but probably an 8-string guitar. 8-strings are commonly used to get that bass-y sound and they've become increasingly popular in modern metal.
“You stand around the bloody Demon bodies, and you're like covered in blood, guts and gore"... Your imagination is deeply impressive and utterly terrifying at the same time. 🤭 If I hadn't liked you before, I certainly would now. 🤣G.G. _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Just a bit of background for you to pick between Doom and Doom Eternal. Doom is a lot easier, and maybe not as grand a scale as Eternal. But, it's completely satisfying in that you are playing a main character who does not speak a word, yet oozes angry personality. It's all in 1st person, but you can tell what the Doom Guy thinks through his actions when interacting with the environment. No reloading. Go to town. Your character is the monster here. Eternal is a sequel, but you don't REALLY have to know the story to enjoy it. But, you get less ammo, and the game focuses more on learning and exploiting weak points. So no just finding a favorite gun, and blasting away. You will constantly switch. Because to kill this thing you need a rocket, to kill that thing you need a laser. Etc. And there will be points in the game that are downright frustrating. But, if you are the type to want a challenge, it's got you covered. And the sights of the places you'll visit? Even in the first stage? Epic. So pick your poison, both are great. That medieval one is coming out in May? March? An M month... But they had a falling out with this soundtrack's musician, so soundtrack won't be the same.
