  • The Alpine nation of Slovenia is grappling with the aftermath of the worst flooding in memory. While in Spain and Portugal, wildfires rage amid southern Europe's summer heatwave.
    EU Chief Ursula von der Leyen is heading to Slovenia today to offer support after flash flooding ravaged the Alpine country and claimed six lives.
    Many European nations including Germany have sent specialists and emergency equipment to help Slovenia with the clean-up operation. DW's Rosie Birchard traveled to the region of Carinthia to meet some of those hardest hit by what’s been described as Slovenia’s worst-ever natural disaster.

    Heavy rain caused flooding in Carinthia and Slovenia in July and August 23. It destroyed transport links and settlements. Extra water causes rivers overflow. Flooding is reason for avalanche, debris and swept away vehicles.
    University of Bologna found cyclogenesis as strengthening of cyclonic circulation in atmosphere.
    Surface weather analysis may help to make weather maps to be able to understand and forecast weather.
    What is happening now is maybe climate change.

    • @HibikiKano
      @HibikiKano 10 месяцев назад +7

      Certainly seems like climate change. The weather over the past few years in Slovenia has been quite different to what my grandparents, parents and I were used to.
      Seems like whatever weather is happening isbstrogner and is sticking to an area for longer.
      A few years back we had ice rain for a whole week. And the cold front just stuck still for 3 weeks straight. It ruined large swats of forests.
      It looked like it was formed by magic in a fantasy film, but it was real so it felt incredibly eerie walking through it.
      None of these events are in historic records in this scale.
      We should speed up our preperations, both cleaning our energy use and prodiction, as well as preparing infrastructure for these extremes.

    • @chubbymoth5810
      @chubbymoth5810 10 месяцев назад +4

      Every degree Celcius increases the amount of water vapor being transported by nearly 5%. So more precipitation can be expected. Increased extremes are more common.

      There have always been atmospheric changes in the history of planet Earth and other planets.
      A lot of changes on planets happen due to where our Solar System is located when it is rushing through new and different areas of the Universe.
      100, 300, or even 1000 years is a mere moment in our planet`s history.
      Everybody is talking about climate change on Earth, but why is nobody mentioning the changes on other planets in our solar system?
      The fact that we or our (great)-grandparents don`t remember this kind of weather doesn`t mean that the catastrophic events are unnatural or new.
      So many civilizations have been wiped out in our solar system and maybe now it`s our turn.
      It`s one thing to read about such events but quite another to be present when it is actually beginning to happen. We all know that these are just the beginnings and it is frightening.

    Do our thoughts influence nature?
    Indeed, our thoughts influence nature.
    We live in a single global-integral system of nature, we influence it with our thoughts, and we receive feedback accordingly.
    Similar to laws that operate on mechanical, electronic, electromagnetic and other material and biological scales, when we press, push or constrain something, we receive a response. Likewise, when we think positively or negatively about others, we accordingly receive a response.
    The global-integral reality in which we live is a closed system, and we receive responses from it according to our attitudes to it.

      It is a bit tricky to do. Those mountains look very steep and I wonder just how prone they are to land slips and avalanches (the weather could change again to make both problems more commonplace).
      It may be better to take an inventory of land contours around the country and relocate those who live in the bottom of such steep valleys as this. Similar disasters are bound to happen in countries with such landscapes while we continue to have this type of extremism in the world's weather. Better to offer to move people out of such danger zones and refuse permission to build further housing there.

      They are east of Italy but definitely but not "eastern Europe" unless you Consider the Czech Republic "eastern Europe" which I'm pretty positive doesn't apply. Though I think Croatia and Hungary are, so it's right on the edge.

      Because we want Ukraine to join civilised and prospering Europe, not to see it go up in ruzzian flames.

      Slovenian here, people like you need to seriously get a mental check. Slovenia is nowhere near the painful gutter Ukraine is in right now, you are insanely dumb to think that instead of Ukraine all that aid should instead be sent to Slovenia. We are already getting help from Europe. In our disaster 6 people died, and in Ukraine much more than that die every single day.. don't be ignorant please

    For a long time, the weather has been, at times, destructive. But just in the last few years, it seems that the weather has truly become mankind's enemy, and not in any way a "friend", either drought, that causes wildfires or a flood, as here in Slovenia, that also may have hail anywhere from 2-4 inches big, as in Virginia, (USA) on August 8, 2023.
    But here is something to consider, of Jesus, when on a boat on the Sea of Galilee, whereby a severe storm suddenly arose, and even Peter, who was an experienced fisherman and had dealt with many storms, was frantic and ran over to Jesus who was sleeping in the stern, saying "Teacher, do you not care that we are about to perish", so that Jesus awoke from his sleep and said to the storm: "Hush ! Be quiet !" so that in an instant the wind abated a great clam set in.(Mark 4:35-39)
    Jesus gave a preview of what the weather will be like from the beginning of his Millennial reign onward (Rev 20:4-6), forever, under the control of God's heavenly Kingdom, so that the weather will never be destructive again, but genuinely pleasant, truly enjoyable, for the "meek" ones that will "inherit the earth" that has been transformed into a paradise during Jesus Millennial reign by God's Kingdom (see Matt 6:10), so that when the evil-doer to one side of Jesus is resurrected back to life, he will find a beautiful paradise earth with perfect weather.(see Luke 23:43)
    In addition, the devastating effects of sin or imperfection, that brings on sickness and death, will also be done away with (along with the beastly political system, the religions of the world called Babylon the Great and the greedy commercial system), as Revelation 21:3-5 shows, so that the "meek" ones can enjoy a meaningful life "in the abundance of peace......forever".(Ps 37:11, 29)
