    f(2) means: plug in 2 for each X. So X^3 = 2.2.2 = 8; f(3) means: plug in 3 for each X, and so on. The result of f(X) = Y.

    Over 12 years ago, I had the worst pre-calculus Prof. Just glancing here before you started. Ah ha. Just substitute the (2) for all the X's. Thanks

    You missed the opportunity to show what factor you derived from the synthetic division. That’s the main reason for division is to find a new factor.
