- I’ve recorded something like 25 albums, and I stream over 2,000,000 tracks a month, but this song “Ain’t No Sunshine” is always my best selling track. There's something really sexy and smooth about it that people love. (By the way, it was my wife, Roberta, who insisted we record this track; as usual, she was right!)
So here’s me, Mark Maxwell, recording my sax over the rhythm section tracks from the original recording session.

I recorded that album with my good buddy and awesome harmonica player, Paul Michael Meredith. The other players on this track are:

Mark, I love this cut you did as well as "papas got a brand new bag". Got to tell you I go to sleep by your tunes almost nightly. Don`t expect you to believe me but I went out and bought a tenor sax ( I have never played before) just so I could find the notes to these two songs of yours and try to sound like you. It`s hard but I told my family that I would learn how to play these two songs by the end of the year. If I don`t it won't be because I haven't been practicing daily. Love love your musical sound.

Hey, jaymac, thanks for the kind words - I appreciate it very much. That's actually an SR Tech mouthpiece, and I think when I did this video I was using Fibracell reeds (I have since switched to cane reeds). 🙏 I appreciate you, man! 😊

Mark Maxwell, I was reading other comments. Did I understand that if I purchace this song that you would also send me the sheet music to it as well? I would love to have the sheet music of this version of aint no sunshine and also your version of papa got a brand new bag. I don`t read music but if I could have someone show me the notes I can figure out the fingering. Thank you again for the wonderful sound that you produce on your saxophone. All i want to do by the end of the year is to learn these two songs of yours and play them as you played them in these videos. Thank you
+Randy Young I don't have the sheet music for either of those songs, Randy. And besides, I highly recommend learning those songs by ear. You'll learn more and better that way. The best advice I can give you is to try and play every day, if even for a few minutes. Take your sax out, put it on a sax stand, and leave it where you can just grab it without having to take it out of the case. Playing every day even for 5 minutes will increase your skills greatly and quickly!
