Yo about the bad. There’s a reason everyone wants the 2.0t instead of the 3.8. It’s because it’s a close relative of the Mitsubishi rallyart engine, so you can basically Frankenstein a lot of stuff making big power. Heavily under rated platform
@paulfrompayroll I'm saving up for a new exaust for my 2.0t bk2 genny lol I bought one about 2 months after making my og comment . so far I'm loving it. I'm a big guy so it's a bit of a tight fit but other than that no complaints of the cars fault. Im storing it during the winter (ohio life) and stockpiling parts.
I learned how to fully drive manual on this car and it was hard at first but now every shift is pretty much butter ofc I have my off times but typically it’s just fine in every gear
@@Bk2Levi i hope so, i own a 2010 genesis coupe so far its been a dream to drive. only issues i've had was my oil pan cracking but that's only because I'm slammed on coils lol but its good to hear from other genesis owners that the reliability is firm

Lmao I learned how to drive manual on this car and yeah it was a pain in the ass. 1-2 shift is still almost impossible to get smooth. Ever other gear feels fine though.
I’ve had my Genesis for 7 years and absolutely love it. Only problem I’ve ever had is the window regulators. Just passed 90k miles and have no problems. People constantly come up to me asking about it taking pictures. Somebody even asked if it was an Aston Martin
The transmission that came in the BK1 for the track actually is a 6-speed automatic so there wasn't just a five speed auto. There is a 6-speed automatic and it's actually a ZF may transmission.
I’ve drove both 2.0T manual and 3.8l r-spec 6 speed manual and I never had an issue with shifting these cars tbh as long as you know what your doing and understand cars shifting is smooth in my opinion but I’ve been building cars and worked in a shop for years and drove many manual cars. The 3.8 r spec was a fun car to drive hands down it’s quick off the line and feels just amazing in the shifts no issue. Same with the 2.0t was the same way but less whp and not as quick off the line
So for the trim levels there's the base the premium/ gt then there's the r spec and the track which is the BK1 and the ultimate is the same thing but they changed it on the facelift. The base is exactly that base then the premium which is the 2.0t and the GT 3.8 has all of the nice creature comforts inside and outside. Then you get to the r spec which has the four piston brembo brake calipers all around. It has the limited slip differential. The sway bars are bigger in the front and the rear and the shock valving is a little stiffer than it has the 19 inch wheels versus the 18s and it has no creature comforts. Essentially it's a base with the factory performance parts. Then with the track/ ultimate you get all of their future comforts that come in the premium and the GT and it has the factory performance parts that the r spec has.
Just test drove one .love the power. Love the looks......but the gauge in the middle are useless and idk if it was the one I was testing but the feel of the rear tires vibration was rattling my back

Yeah, the turbo and being built around it gives it a better headstart. The 3.8 you need to work for.
It's way easier and less expensive to get a 2.0t to 400whp than it is to get the 3.8 to 400.
@@sporkinstien6571 i really like how the 3.8 sounds with a good exhaust system, and it could be more reliable

Bought mine back in 2012 brand new a BK1. Still have it, love it !!!
how’s the reliability been all these years?
@@Xezthos Never had a problem with it. Other than the Steering wheel peel. Replaced it with an Aftermarket CF, leather Perforated Steering wheel
For real as long as you always check your oil and change it on time these cars can really do the distance.

great video, fellow genny owner here, its a good car just need to be careful with the oil, they are very sensitive when it comes to oil
How regularly do you change it
