Luck favors the Brave...this was one of "those" games when you know that the winning team is going all the way. Tough luck for me, Im a Yankee all the way out here in California. I watch these games and I got nobody to talk to..I was surrounded by Giants, Athletics and surprisingly Red Sox fans in Sacramento and now..Im surrounded by Valley Girl Accent blowing Dodgers fans. I remembered in New York, you could be getting a slice and walk down the street debating and shouting out stats with your pal about the Yankees and people off the streets whom you have never met, would chime in on the conversation...all of this on your way to work. You'd get off the bus/subway so happy, like you've won a case in court.

Amazing game so happy the Yankees came out on top though
Didi's game was incredible, 3 run HR, 2 doubles, 2 singles, 7 RBI, ridiculous play that almost was a double play to end the game. This game was incredible to watch live. The back and forth, so exciting. Glad the Yanks got the win!! My Eagles in Miracle at the Meadowlands #2 was best sports event I have watched live, but this is close in excitement. Chapman is so inconsistent, he throws hard but you can't have someone so inconsistent as your closer. When he is on he is one of the best obviously, but as seen in this game he struggles quite often. Ottovino had the same issue and I think he was pissed because of the music they were playing after every pitch lol.
Didi! Didi! Didi! Hicksy! Hicksy! Hicksy! What an incredible game. Way to go Yankees. That was awesome. The Twins really gave it to them though. They were not going away without a serious fight. My hats off to them too. Just really excited about this win. It shows perseverance and fight and never give up attitudes. Great job.

When the current starters for the Yankees caught wind of Cashman's proposal of "buying" a starter come the deadline, they PITCHED well. Prior to the Rockies series they had an ERA of about 2.45 which was the BEST in the MLB post all star break. Now the mojo has worn off, Cashman has to make a move and a BIG one. Regardless of price, this is the last chance for the Yankees in this decade for a WS. Hope for Sevy and Dellin to come back before the postseason. Get Stanton and Maybin back as well. Having the most lethal and "SAVAGE" offense in the MLB is a gift, if only they can get their STARTING pitching above avg because if not, they have a huge problem in Verlander's Astros before even thinking about a DREAM WS RIVALRY MATCHUP to have its flames be ignited once more.
We can do without stanton. After all, weve gotten where we are without him.
Us Yankee fans need to be realistic. There may not be a deal worth making this year considering whats available and what other teams want in payment.
Id love to win a WS this decade also. But Id also like to win 1 or more next decade too.

Current starters caught wind of him planning on giving one of them the boot come the deadline and so they up their game post all star break..before the Rockies series starting ERA was what 2.45..best in MLB...but now the mojo is gone. Then come Aug hope that Sevy and Bettances get back so that we wont look like we're throwing beachballs at the Astros. Do you think that that kid..whats his name garcia could get a start this season?

I really dont think Deivi is a realistic option to help us this year. Hes still too raw

You have to forgive me for being conservative. Ive been a fan for 43 years, good and bad years. Ive seen George trade away too many promising kids like Garcia for some brand name over the hill geezer that stunk it up after he got here. The worst years were between '82-'94. No rings, no playoffs, several losing seasons.

Hicks catch reminded me of Benintendi’s in the alcs last year. Same exact scenario, and same type of catch.
Different types of catches. Hicks was going back, benintendi was going forward
Sea Bass still, they were basically the same
They both were game-ending catches that stopped a rally, but this one was much more difficult to pull off. I know how clutch Benintendi's catch was last year but it's a bit overrated.
