Yeah its one of the all time reg season thrillers. 2002 had one like this vs the Twins at Yankee Stadium. Jason Giambi won it on a grand slam in the rain in the 14th. 2004 the Jeter dives into the stands game 2009 Yankees Red Sox into the 15th A-Rod walk off, Yanks won that 3-0 was scoreless all the way up until then 2009 can also include the Castillo error by the Mets and I think the Yanks won 9-8 Off the top of my head, those are some of the all time best Yankee regular season games I can remember, but this 2019 Twins game is right there with all of them if not better.
I hate how it ended here for Hicks in NY. I always felt bad seeing him struggle towards the end of his stint with the Yankees. The last play of this game is what I’ll always remember about Hicks. Always!
@@megmorris6924 no I said that because it was a thrilling game to watch. Both teams were so good in that game. I would have lost it if I were watching it. And no I'm not a Yankees fan, I'm more of a mets fan but I like NY I guess.
So far... there could be a game or two near the end with pennant races on the line that might have more energy, but I doubt the blow for blow pace of this game will be matched again in 2019. These 2 teams offenses are off the charts
I’m a Twins fan, Yankees have had our number for a decade, this game was less about who won and more about 2 teams stacked with talent playing incredible baseball. This is why baseball is the greatest sport. GG by both teams, great win by the Yanks...and I’m sure Hicks loved playing that well in front of his old team.
One thing I would say, Target Field is such an enormous ballpark, definitely not home run friendly but nonetheless a great game & game saving catch by Aaron Hicks. -Orioles fan
Didi Gregorius is in every highlight reel..every scoring play..I STILL cannot fathom that the Yankees let Didi walk and try to retain him..he was amazing all year and in the postseason...big gaffe by the Yankees brass..but oh well..GO YANKEES..Great game and comeback..
This series is a playlist of best plays. Yesterday a triple play, now some double plays from twins and this catch by Hicks. If this catch ain't number one in the best plays this week i don't know what is.
Should have shown the crucial Tauchman at-bat before Hicks' HR, and the complete Chapman meltdown in the 9th. Instead this strange cut shows a full at-bat and routine ground-out after the HR by Sano...? This is why Jomboy is better than MLB at making videos.
I remember watching this game live and I woke up my roommate yelling over that Hicks catch. This was the game when I realized the playoffs were going to be something else if we faced the Twins cause damn y'all can swing them bats. As a Yankee fan I can honestly say I dont know who I was more impressed by that night, us or the Twins. Awesome game guys.
London had the privilege of seeing one of the best MLB baseball games in history. I still remember this game years later watching it on TV thinking what did these redcoats do to deserve this kind of game
This was an absolutely nuts season, and I doubt that we will ever see a season as crazy as this one with so many people on both of those teams scoring SO many home runs.
I'm mad it didn't show the Tauchman at bat prior to hicks at homer in the 9th. That at bat was absolute text book, and forced Rodgers to throw a fastball where hicks could hit out
Wow, imagine if this game had happened in the ALCS. An epic comeback followed by constant back-and-forth scoring, ending in a diving catch that would have otherwise either tied the game or walked off the Yankees. Here's hoping these two teams actually meet in the ALCS for real this season!
@brett bono because it was Aroldis Chapman of all pitchers completely melted down and couldn't throw a strike, added to the tension because everyone could see something was unusually wrong which made the walkoff seem inevitable
@@joe3419 I don't cry at all because even though a die hard Yankees fan life goes on rather they win or lose. Grow up and stop taking certain things that don't affect your life seriously.

Agreed - but they did come back from down 6 as well, so at least the bats came through. That's harder to do in the fall when every team they play has at least decent pitching and the weather gets colder
Silver lining is that it came from one of the best teams in the AL. Very fine margins for this game which could have changed to "L" with a homerun in the 10th from Kepler. Congrats to NY from a twins fan though, very well fought.
